Haylie wrote:"That'll be eight, then. No green menace can stand before the might of my longbow!"

Peter holds up said bow for all to see, looking rather proud... until he turns around and sees the boars. "Bloody hell."

He takes off rather quickly, looking around for something he can climb on and fire from, such as a platform or tall stone, even a pile of bodies... anything that would get him away from those tusks. "If all goes well, perhaps I might get some ham from the beasts. Glorious!"

There are several stone pillars in the arena... he might be able to climb on one if he is nimble enough.

Brnin8r wrote:Trey laughed and goaded the goblins once more. This is the combat he loved; him against the world. He slashed left and right, keeping his shield arm close to his side. He almost didn't notice the boars were it not that a goblin was now under the stomping hooves, being shredded by goring tusks, of the giant feral boars. He tried to finish off the surrounding goblins while keeping a wary eye on the rampaging pigs.

Blazerkin wrote:James got up, still slightly dizzy from the wound and took a few seconds to re-orient himself.

They both find a feral bore charging at them! Eyes gleaming with madness.

He is, as it turns out: He slips his bow back over his shoulder, runs up the side of the piller enough to grab the ledge and pulls himself up. Then he turns, equips his bow once more, nocks an arrow, and spits.

He yells, "Just try and get me now, bloody pigs!" and aims for its eyes.

Trey slashed the final goblin around him just as he noticed the boar charging him. Quickly he jammed the bottom edge of his shield into the ground with him behind it. He slipped his arm from the shield handles and held his sword in both hands, awaiting for when the boar hit his shield. If the ploy worked, he'd whip around the shield and try hacking directly on the boar's spine.

There is a deafening snort and squeal, like a primal chunk of pig had been speared by a giant spear. The boar topples, making a large ditch in the ground.

The boar strikes the shield! Hundreds of pounds of angry pork moving with the unstopability of a locomotive.

Trey was slightly shocked as the loose shield was pushed and caught him behind it. His plans changed quickly and he dropped his sword, slipped his arm back in to the shield handles, and, with his plate screeching against his shields steel, dug his feet in to slow the charge... that is if he even could.

James gets over his disorientation and sees Trey struggling with the boar. With a running jump, he leaps onto the beast's back before stabbing his knives into it's eyes and by extension, it's brain!

Her pale blonde braid of hair swung from side to side as she turned, hefting the shield up to block the blows of the goblins that had been behind her, and she began to chant under her breath, just avoiding their attacks while she did. Suddenly, a golden glow formed behind her, forming into the shape of a giant pair of feathered wings, just for a moment or two before disappearing, and then the golden light burst along the length of her sword and she started to swing at the goblins!

Victor simply looked at the unorganized brawling they called combat that was occurring, tactfully he moved quickly and gracefully away from any approaching monster in a manner that would reduce the visibly of him to the encroaching monsters usually by placing someone else in the way. He prepared some basic healing prayer just in case someone was careless but took note to make it quite.

"Ach--that's more like it!"

Certainly not missing two pages or so worth of action, Onín stands back and lets the others dispatch the goblin horde, looking over them in a satisfied kind of way, as though he was orchestrating the whole things. Perhaps he's just lazy. Either way, as the new challenge is unleashed, he finally seems to stop daydreaming and take real notice of the battle around him, his sword jumping into his hand like a magnet to a fridge, to use an expression that would mean absolutely nothing to any of the warriors present. A smile forming crudely on his face, (crude because any expression on his visage really, is more akin to something hewn from hard stone then something you would expect to find on a person), he charges for the nearest pigthing, ready to swing down at it in a wide, deadly arc!

"Its rather good to know this was a blatant ploy for cheap gladtorial entertainment,"Jibril mutters. "Unclean beasts," he mutters again as he slashes at the knee of one that runs past him.

The slab of pork digs in, tusks dipping down and about to hurl the good Paladin into the air, when...

James leaps and stabs! The boar shudders, before going still and slowly falling over dead.

The goblins flee before her glowing sword! Becoming easy prey for most of the other miscelaneous heroes in the Arena.

Victor remains inconspicuous!

The goblin is kneecap slashed? Ouch.

The boar charges back! Slashing and snorting as it goes.

Meanwhile, the goblins and boars are nearly dead when the skies visibly darken... black clouds forming across the sun suddenly. The whole arena dips into premature twilight. A palpable sense of dread begins permeating the area.

Up in the royal box... Arleigh mutters someting incomprehensible and looks at the sky suspiciously... as the princess looks positively terrified, a feeling echoed through much of the audience.

Peter, who had been firing arrow after arrow up to that point, stops and looks up as well, a look of confusion on his well-tanned face.

"Bloody hell. This can't be part of the arena challenge..."

Looking around at the crowd, then at the royal box, confirms his suspisions. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. Or else the king was a good actor, but that was unlikely, judging by the look on the princess's face.

He looked to the king and shouted at the top of his voice, "Your Highness! What's going on?!"

Trey's eyes reflected his worry as the giant boar was about to fling him into the air until the acrobatic individual took combat advantage on the pig, skewering it easily. The paladin-knight looked from behind his large tower shield and nodded, "Thank you Good Sir." with the pig dead Trey examined his shield as he walked to pick up his sword. As he picked up his sword the sky had darkened. "Foul magic is afoot." he commented, looking to the royal booth to see if the King or anyone else was doing anything.

A smile spread across her lips as the goblins fled from her, and the glow faded from her sword before she sheathed it at her side once more. Her blue eyes watched the other hopeful heroes finishing off the goblins as she placed the giant shield onto her back, but the shadow that rolled across the sandy floor of the area made her look up with a concerned expression on her face. Her gaze then roamed across the watching crowd until she located her daughter and servent, giving a nod of her head to the woman, a silent message passing between them.

James jumped off the boar's back and nodded to Trey, cleaning his knives on the dead beast's fur. When the shadow rolled in, he looked to the sky, the stoic look on his face slipping a bit
