Hawkins looks to them. "Ladies... keep it together, would you?"

He goes back to his mic. "We are going to follow the one kidnapper. I expect an update soon from you, Bright."

Looking back to them. "Lets get moving." He strides forward into the rain, taking out a small device and turning it on. Paula would know it as a tracking device for the homing signals all marines were implanted with.

Meanwhile, Blade nods at Chris: "Yes, weird..."

Paula nods with a "yes sir" and follows Hawkins out into the rain, making sure to keep her eye out, as usual, for any untoward movement or any sign of their pilot.

Claudia allows herself a smirk when she heard Paula's respectful acceptance of the order, but she kept her mouth shut as they walked back into the rain, dark brown eyes glancing at the tracking device when it was pulled out, although she didn't know what it was. After studying it for a moment, she began to sweeping her gun back and forth, scanning the dark and rainy spaceport for signs of movement, "For all we know, she could be dead.. ".

((Anyway... I'm going to send him a PM. besides that I dont know if I should go on with Paula/Claudia/Hawkins only, or play N8's character.. or what. I dont feel comfortable playing someone else's character though >_<))

(But Hawkins/Paula/Claudia are on their own? Nobody is really being left behind? Bleh, I know waiting is the right choice, but almost all the RP on this forum has dried up, and the longer gaps between posts, the harder it is to stay in the character's head )

(*Shrug* I'd say it's up to you. I wouldn't mind if we kept going, since I like playing as Paula and the banter between her and Claudia, but you're the GM, soooo... yeah. N8 probably wouldn't appreciate it, but he isn't here. And if nobody else is really getting left behind, there's no point in stalling, is there?)

The scene shifts, dramatic music rising as Bendack goes towards the strange blue woman...

And we find ourselves back to the outside of the complex. Lieutenant Hawkins pausing outside of a small door in an out of the way corner.

Hawkins: "The readings say she is underground... this is a maintenance access tunnel. It leads down to the fusion reactor under the colony." He pulls the panel off of the pin pad, crossing some wires beyond it with deft skill for a few moments before the door... fails to open. Looking closer. "It seems someone has... welded it shut. Paula, do you have a cutting torch?"

[Haylie]

Paula is facing the other way with her gun, making sure no more blue things come out of the shadows. "I'm not an engineer, sir. That space is reserved for more ammo. Appologies. Claudia?"

Claudia's gaze snapped back to Hawkins as he spoke, her interest in the device growing when he revealed it was tracking the pilot's position. A little grin spread across her face when he asked if Paula could cut through the door, a grin which became positively smug when her fellow female revealed she couldn't get it open. "What would you do without me?", she murmured, walking up to the door. Flipping open a panel on the arm of her armoured suit, she pulled out a long black tube-like device, and with a flick of her thumb, the tip began to glow red with an intense flame, and she used it like a pen to draw a large outline on the front of the door... "You need to prepare for such things in my line of work".

Bendak had stared at the alien for a long...long time, his nerves almost failing him. Up until now it was just them...humans in a big universe...this was new. Flashes of old comic books and videos flashed across his mind about horrible aliens and their nasty, alien attacks. He worried this blue person was hiding something. But duty is duty.

"Yes sir." he finally said as he took a few steps closer, not letting his guard down for a second, "Put your hands on your head!" he shouted, feeling slightly dumb shouting at a blue-skinned...thing. He looked down to the carbonite cuffs at his utility belt. He'd never figured he'd be apprehending anyone on this mission...it was all skull-bashery in his mind...but this was different.

(Please don't spear me!!! *grovels* I was wrestling with an important affair of state. [and if anyone can name that movie, they get a candy bar])

Hawkins nods. "Thank you for that, Claudia." He shines his light into the tunnel, then looks back at them. "It is small, so we must go single file. I will go first, then Claudia, then Paula to watch our backs. Remember, we are still looking for civilians... so check your targets." He is looking at Claudia as he says this. "If you see blue, command them to freeze. If they try to flee, shoot them in the leg or arm. If they charge, you are authorized to use lethal force."

With that, he turns on a flashlight mounted on his headset, stepping into the darkness...

Meanwhile, back with the Squad...

The alien obediently puts her hands on her head. A strange smile on her face. But as he glances down to look for the cuffs... she leaps forward! Wary as he is, the woman moves like a snake. Her hand darts out, grabbing his rifle and keeping it pointed away from her with a grip like steel. She then reaches towards him with her other hand... as blue tendrils sprout from her fingertips...

Bright curses! The alien had placed Bendack squarely between them and her when she lept. "FAN OUT! Get line of sight and drop her!"

Bendak's eyes widened as suddenly the alien who had been so still was practically a lightning bolt. He hadn't the time to fire she was so fast. As his gun was aimed at the ceiling now, he released his grip with one hand and grabbed the alien's wrist (is that out of line?), keeping the wicked tendrils from getting closer. He imagined they'd extend longer soon and so without delay he thrust his helmeted head foward into where her nose should be. "Back off blue bitch!!" Bendak cursed loudly as he did so.

The alien is headbutted! She is dazed a moment, but shakes her head. Seeing her hand grabbed by Bendack, she smiles. She wraps her hand around Bendack's wrist... as he feels a stinging sensation... the tendrils sinking into his arm. By rights it should hurt alot more, but it seems they have a natural anesthesia!

[Harri-chan]

Claudia nodded her head with a fairly unreadable expression as she was given instructions by Hawkins, although the glance she gave to Paula upon hearing the other girl would be watching their backs very much suggested she didn't think much of the other girl's combat skills, or atleast wanted to give Paula the impression that's how she felt! With her helmet gone, she had no night vision, just the little torch fixed to her riffle as she followed him into the dark tunnel, sweeping it back and forth ahead of her as she made her way along it.

[Haylie]

Paula made no attempt to hide her feelings for Claudia: "I hate you." No further explanation of her expression required. Clearly, she doesn't like being in the back. She doesn't say anything, however, and just keeps her gun raised in front of her as she walked backwards through the tunnel, her holographic visor's motion tracker in combination with her rifle's flashlight giving her a very good field of vision, despite the darkness.
