Milli: The drive (home?) was anything but pleasent. 'Dona' was scared spitless the entire time, though it was more the, "I'm gonna die! I'm gonna die!" kind.
Jack's time wasn't much better if any. He had to deal with the little demon girl cringing in her seat, face white, eyes closed, immature wings trying to wrap themselves around her. Any moment now he was expecting her to start to try and crawl into his lap like a scared puppy, which would be bad.
"AAhhh!! Too fast! Too faast~! DX" Dona cries as she scrunches herself into a ball within her seat the whole drive so far. Her little wings wrapped around the terrified girl.
Jack slowed down and made sure the speedometer read five miles under the posted speed limit of 30mph. Afterall, this is a fast car and he had the habit of sometimes laying on the gas a bit too much. "There, is that better?"
"Nooo! >.<" She was still scared of the speed, but she was scrunched up a little less than what she was.
"I'm doing five under the limit. I can't go any slower!" Jack says, trying his best not to yell. He holds up one of his hands from the steering wheel and breathes deeply (Dona wasn't looking otherwise she'd be scared even more, I imagine :p). Driving with Dona has proven to be more hectic than the last time he did so...and that was after the change! Man, what's with her? She's never been like this. He thinks.
He pulls into a gas station and parks the car in the back lot. Dona unravels herself when the car finally comes to a stop. She looks up at Jack. "Are we there yet...? ;_;"
"Can you please at least try to get a hold of yourself? ...And no, not the wrapping around kind." Jack says calmly to her despite the drive so far.
"I-I can't help it! I've never been so scared in a car in all my life. I hate it just as much as you do." She says sullenly, hanging her head as if she were indeed a the scolded little girl is.
Jack reaches over, takes Dona's seatbelt and straps her in. "There, now in the highly unlikely event of a crash, you stand zero chance of dieing...I assure you." He says to her in a tone that was slow and reassuring with an undertone of frustration. He had went through so much since his friends changed, and losing one of them didn't help him either. "Okay...now that that's settled, my parents should be home, where's yours?"
"Uhh...I think they went out of town for the weekend." Dona says, still a bit nervous. "It was why I decided to go on this stupid dare with you guys in the first place! I mean I know it was a bad idea, but I didn't know it'd be this bad...=3="
"Perfect, we'll go to your house then." A relieved Jack sighed. That was good news. "Sorry, if I yelled at you or anything. I'm just all tore up about Tom."
"I guess it's fine, I'm being such a whiner anyway... " She hangs her head.
Jack gets on his cell phone and calls his dad. He asked dad about him staying at Donavan's for the weekend, and dad okay-ed it. Jack then hung up and proceeded to drive the last five miles to Dona's two-story brick house...
