There is a deceptively soft snap, then Marcus finds he's holding the handle in his hand. Oops? Oh, and the door's still attached to it. Seems like it came off its hinges.

So far so good. It seems the map matches his surroundings. The route twists and turns... then makes a sharp right turn, straight into a heavy, wooden door...

And the big, stone slab comes up an inch... His might alone doesn't seem to do the trick though.

As he peeks through the door, he is momentarily blinded by the light coming through the wide window. The window right behind a
big, big monster...
~ Reyes ~
Grabbing the statue is easy enough. However, the slightest pull makes the upper half come loose. Right after he surfaces, is a brief tremor can be felt through the water...
~ Rodmark ~
Unfortunately, his foot hooks behind something, bringing him crashing right down to the floor. The impact makes the floor tremble... and little bits of crumbly rock come off the statue.
( Hey all, thanks for being patient. If you're all still around, that is. I'm back to updating this, but I'll be stepping things up a bit. (The pace story, not frequency of updates, I'm afraid.) It seems I was a bit too ambitious right at the start, so I'm gonna be remedying that from here on out. All this is still the prologue... )
