The boys bumped left and right trying to get to their makeshift posts. Seeing as the base hadn't been properly finished, there weren't really steady positions to take. Most boys ill-fitted ran to the back storage room to grab their rifles and armor while the rest who were already on patrol began crouching, lying prone, or hugging a wall; aimed outside.
The men from the pod at the bottom of the crater began firing at the walls of the warehouse, the weak, outer shell being pelted by...bullets! Real, live ammunition began pelting through the concrete of the constructed base, but with no boy in sight, there were no immediate fatalaties. Anyone looking would see that they also had an odd second barrel that was lit up red like their goggles.

The GPS whirs on and a cheery valley girl voice speaks loudly, "Like, Hi! Please, like, enter your destination!" There were several bases within a 200 mile radius, the closest of which being the one Alana had come from. Rachel has, at this point, fallen asleep.
