Julian blinks. "Damn... sounds like we have world war three in a can."

He pauses, then grins.

"Awesome..." He continues flooring it as the chopper loses them, grumbling a bit about impatient idiots.

The pillar of smoke became larger as they got closer and eventually, they found themselves looking at what looked like an ancient ruin on fire. Broken walls were all that was left in a clearing of trees, heading further South a large swath of upheaved dirt scarred the land. "Woah..." Surge would hear behind him in stereo.

***

It took a little bit longer, but soon the large plume of smoke could be seen. "Judging from the size of that, we might be too late." the scientist moaned. Two hydraulic *shoomps* could be heard as the two silent boys retreated into the trailer, the gauss cannon LED displays turning green. "Well, looks like they know where they're sitting..."

***

"I...I'm Dana..and I don't know why they attacked us. They looked like growed-ups..."

***

The old man smiled, "Cut right to the point don't you?" he chuckled as he paced in front of the girl, "I would be more than willing to explain what I can right now, but you look soaked to the bone. Come with me. We'll get you some dry clothes." he beckoned her forward as a piece of wall opened up and the man stepped into a futuristic looking elevator.

Name: Robin
Age: 16
Height: 5' 10''
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Reddish-blond

Backround: Robin was the lazy son of a brilliant scientist. He was revolutionizing the world while Robin just lazed about at home, playing video games. His father always said "Doing nothing gets nothing done." That all changed when he disapeared.
In a desprite atempt to find his dad, he studied up on all he did, and even duplicated some of his work. However, then one thing that he could never understand was the backpack his dad left him. It holds everything in a sub-dimension inside of it and negates 97% of the mass in it. It wasn't completed, and it is constantly leaking a strange energy around it and into Robin.
When the war came he decided to help with his best ability... his mind. He surprised himself with how smart he is. He took the backpack becouse he thought that he could use every advantage he could. It has proved true many times.
Nowadays, he has givin up on finding his dad... but believes that he is alive. He is a genious, literally. He can create bombs out of metal and a battery. He is constantly trying to prove to hiself that he was worthy of his dad, who never gave up on him.

Meanwhile, somewhere else, in a small underground buncker, a scientist, by the name of Robin, is working on something that could revelotionize the war... if he could get it to work!

"Stupid gun! Stupid ammo! Why won't you work?!" In front of him, on a table, are various girlifieying weapons that he is trying to reverse the effects of. He bangs the table with his hand, hurting it. "OW! Come on!" He goes and sits on a swirly chair, and lets it spin. "Dad would've gotten it working..."

Robin takes a look around. He was in an underground bunker dedicated to a special group of boys... the scientists. Around him are relics of the war... from the very begining. Invintions that worked and some that didn't. All of them came from here.

There used to be more of them... but every now and then they had to go up to get suplies, and food. First it was cramped. Then it was livible. Then roomy. Then lonely. And now... he is alone, in a giant lab. They had been on the verge of creating a weapon that could turn girls into boys! They were so close! But the leader of there little group, the smartest one, left on the last raid for food. That was 6 months ago.

Robin looks around at everything. He sighs. He grabs the backpack that his dad built and starts stuffing his inventions, notes, blueprints and suplies into them. Soon the lab is cleared out.

He reaches into his backpack and takes out a pistol. He looks at it. He looks around the room. And then he marches up the stairs. Like his dad always said, doing nothing gets nothing done.

Charlotte couldn't argue with that. As the adrenaline wore off and she started to relax, the soaking wet bodysuit was growing more and more uncomfortable. She made sure she was clutching her rifle firmly as she followed him into the elevator, although her wide blue eyes were looking around it in suprise. "Where is the girl? Her name is Giselle. She was out on patrol when you attacked us....". She'd been trained to take torture without spilling information, but the girls drugs seemed to have undone it, atleast in this situation. The little girl part of her mind had decided to trust the friendly old man, and now she was telling him information without even bring asked. The girls had happily let her mind slowly transform into a little girl, knowing it would make her uncomfortable around boys, but they'd probably never had to consider how her more childish mind would handle a confrontation with an adult....

"Great Scott!" exclaimed Surge. (I couldnt resist the refrence). He flew around the perimeter once, his face in amazement and terror. He couldn't belive the base would be in such terrible shape. Surges base was hit, but damage wasnt this critical. They mustve either gotten a mortal hit in the suprise attack or the base is running combat opperation and had little man power left. Either way, whoever did this is about to get a face full of led curtosy of Surge. "We're going down, NOW! Prepare for battle!" exclaimed Surge as he lowered the choppa to the area. Surge quickly took his rifle and placed it over his lap as he prepared for landing.
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."

Julian sighs. "Great. Well lets see what, or who, we can salvage." He puts his foot to the floor, racing for the cloud.

"Stay hot, though... we might still be walking into a firefight.''

The helicopter lands easily with the two Samples brothers remaining diligent with the vulcan cannons until they were safely on the ground. They quickly geared up and took point, "Just let us know where to go." Brian said as he went prone and propped a tripod from the gun bottom and began surveying the area through his sniper scope. "No sign of anyone, Surge." he said as his brother holding a shotgun slowly made his way forward, darting back and forth behind cover.

***

The semi rumbles down the road until they're rolling on the pavement to the boy's base...to a sight they hadn't expected. The building's in ruins, still smoldering rubble is all that's left; framed by a chain-link fence broken in only two places, and large swaths of dirt and tread tracks enter and exit both holes.

"This...can't be good..." Wyatt whines. The sound of whirring gatling barrels can be heard charging in the trailer.

***

The bullets fly at the hole in the wall, though no sounds of victory happen. In retaliation though, more bullets pelt Chris' position. It sounds like they're getting more people to hunt you.

***

The man nodded, "The other girl was...less cooperative than you..." was all he said. He led Charlotte to a large room that seemed empty. "As a girl I assume you would prefer..." he held his remote, clicking some buttons, "A more comfortable lifestyle." as he finished he pushed a button and from the floor sprang a bed that shimmered with light, flickering until it looked like a perfect solid bed. It was a four poster with silk drapes hanging from the canopy, pink blankets, and fluffy pillows. The steel floor seemed to grow a soft carpet and from the walls sprang several shelves and dresser drawers. One of the side walls opened up into a closet, extending a long bar with clothes to the old man who pulled a single hanger with an outfit on it. "Yes this should do nicely." he handed it to Charlotte. It was a white blouse with frilly laces around the sleeves and bottom, cutting low enough to show some of her undeveloped chest. Her skirt was a thicker cotton, though not denim. It had heart-shaped embroiderings along her hips. Clipped to the waist of the skirt was fresh, dry pair of cotton panties. "I can leave if you'ld prefer." he said as he began to leave.

***

[That's perfect.]

Outside, the sun is bright. The desert heat beats down on you; another testament to the brutality of this new age children have entered. The ground is dry and cracked from the sun's heat and lack of water, sagebrush and tall weeds are the only real life here. From your maps you know that there is a rundown city just North while there is an old lake to the West where the forest starts up. It would be best to hurry and make a decision before nightfall. Little is known what happened to any of the scientists that braved the night air.

[That's good. I was hoping that the backpack wasn't too much, so I gave you a 'do whatever you want whenever you want' card.]

Robin takes a quick look around. The forest would, most likely, be safer, but he didn't know the first thing about how to survive there. On the other hand, the city has probably already been emptied, scavenged by others.

Robin was already beining to think that coming up was a bad idea... but he was already out. At least he made sure that the girls wouldn't be able to get there hands on any of the inventions.

He adjusts his backpack and heads to the city. He might be able to find something there that isn't food to keep... and he might get lucky, and find some canned beans.

"You've seen her? Where is she now?", she asked as she followed the man to the large room. At first, she seemed confused by it, but then watched as the clicking of buttons caused everything to shift into place like a puzzle. Her braided hair swung from side to side as she shook her head, "I appreciate the dry clothes... but I'm not staying", she said as put down her rifle, and took the outfit on a hanger from him, setting it on the bed before pulling off her wet shoes and socks. "I was sent here to bring back Giselle... our friends are waiting for us...".

"You don't need to leave... but just turn around". At this point, she'd have worn anything to get out of the wet military clothing, and as soon as the older man turned his back on her, she was tugging the suit down and wriggling out of it. Her blonde hair was pulled free of it's braid, and she began to redress in the new clothes, her cheeks red as she pulled on the panties, and then the white blouse, before finally sliding the pink skirt up around her waist.

Surge noded. "Good job" he said exiting the choppa. He also slowly moved up the field moving between cover to cover being ever so vigilant. He motioned with hand signals to be careful and keep moving forward. At the moment he didn't hear other noises that werent flame and wreckage, but the posibility was still there that te enemy has taken positions, whoever they might be.

"Grown ups? Where would they have come from? No grown ups have been seen for years. Dana, could you lead Rachel and I to where our teammates are being kept or is it too dangerous for Rachel and me?" Alana asked as she continued to steady Rachel while talking to Dana.

Julian pilots the truck in, and grunts at Wyatt's comment. "When is it ever good..." He opens a comm to his gunners. "Keep your eyes peeled... both for whatever did this, and survivors. Check your targets before firing."
