Japanese Ballerinas : would you like to be one ?

I have noticed that in japanese TF media, the transformation of a boy often result in the creation of a ballet dancer. On site such as http:\\www.kayochan.com it is almost a common occurrence. While costume of bunny girls, school girls, magical girls, maids and secretaries are appreciated on both side of the pacific ocean, there appear to be very little love for tutu in America.

Why do you think is that ?

Maybe I'm revealing too much of what makes me weird, but I've always liked tutus for the same reason I like swimsuits. There's no hiding the shape of your body in them. So it works well with AR. Pre-TF it hugs your curves and shows them off, post-TF it's embaressingly showing off your lack if development.

Anyway, I think it's not that popular because it's a "high society" sort of thing, and is thus further removed from most people's experiences and the tastes they've grown up with. There are a good number of other things that are more familiar to the general public, and doesn't take that much knowledge and understanding of them, that portray grace.

I, personally, have been unable to properly portray a ballerina in a story or a caption, for instance, because I'd need to know the names of the moves, how they're performed, and how said moves are put together for a performance. It's simply beyond my depth.

In the States, as far as I can tell, ballerinas are particularly identified with young girls, which is, for lack of a better term, not a sizable audience. I suppose that's because most people are familiar with them, in our culture, by either being or knowing of someone who had been a ballerina when they were young. In the end, our culture also tends to lean toward sizable breasts, and ballerinas aren't exactly known for them, so...

iunno, maybe its just an angle issue? from one angle (yours) you don't see them? who knows

Though I think Nikkou might be on to something with the young girls thing. We on this side of the pacific do have our peculiarities about children

I don't remember many in the english content sphere, there appears to be a lot more in the japanese sphere. But maybe it's just my angle view.
