"Well, not particularly, but I was watching and can speculate. Perhaps one of the erstwhile-silent goddesses decided to have a little fun for once and gave the princess the power for some revenge. Maybe the princess found the power all on her own--goodness knows nobody was keeping an eye on the 'helpless' girl." She's starting to slip into the legend-telling tone of a bard a little bit. When actually telling a legend this is a good thing, but the various inflections and excessive wordiness can tend to wear thin when one is just trying to get information.
