Make a TF Foundation: A new Werewolf

Her eyes are green, not red, though they do have a mysterious sparkle to them.

"Master was a vicious werewolf. He believed that worth can only be proven by combat, and he changed there culture to reflect such. He believed humans to be inferior beings, and he acted upon such. He believed that all humans should be turned into werewolfs whether or not they want to... and he acted upon such."

"He figured out a way to transfer the power of the flower through a bite, and he taught it to his followers. They started small, taking a boy or girl every now and then. Then they got bold. They took a whole village."

"Now, normally they would protest... they would fight it. They would try to warn others. But the power of a werewolf is an addicting thing, and hard to give up... double so becouse of how they became such."

"The new werewolfs innatly had the ability to pass on there power to humans through a bite. The Master did not know nor care why... and that would be his downfall."

"The werewolf infliction spread across the globe, town after town. Eventually,though, the humans did learn of this, and they prepared to fight back, using silver weapons against them."

"The Master ammassed an army of werewolfs, and the humans ammassed an army of warriors. Bloodshed seemed inevitable."

The girl was listening and slowly walking in what would be in the direction of Kevin. Her glasses seem to be slowly sliding down her nose.

Kevin, lucky enough to avoid eye contact, notices someone moving toward him and pulls the book up a bit, adjusting his sitting posture at the same time to disguise the move. He continues to listen, of course.

"However, Master forgot about his sister, the true queen of the werewolfs. He is... was alwaysed focused on strength, and that will always be his downfall."

"The queen of the werewolfs sympathized with the humans, and knew that what Master was doing just wasn't natural. The werewolfs, with each succesive generation, were getting weaker... as was Master himself. He was litterally pouring some of himself into his follows to make them stronger."

"The queen knew this, and so she planned. She found a normal human. One that wasn't pure of heart, or particularly stronge, but one that was purely human. She fed him the flower under the guise of a small girl the night before a full moon."

"That night, he transformed... but not into a male wolf, no. Not male. He became a female that night. The queen knew this would distract Master from what she truely wanted."

"After the first night, when, with her pure human and pure werewolf strength, she proved herself, the queen came to her during the day and told her what must be done. The master must be deafeted, somehow. Thrown out of power."

"She failed."

"But she did manage to slow him down. They say that he is still out there, waiting, regaining his power, and regaining his followers, watching and waiting for the perfect time to strike."

Kevin took a very silent deep breath through his nose, reminding himself of the possibility that the story was a coincidence and the fact that he wanted to remain inconspicuous here. He turned a page in the book, but his eyes were definitely not focused on the words in it.

The old lady coughs a bit. "Things have changed since the old time. It is harder to hide, harder to adapt. However, the true queen of the werewolfs, daughter of the wolf and of the human, shall never give up. She coughs again. "She shall always fight, for both the werewolfs and the humans. She has been seen in many guises, and can hide the color of her eyes.

The girl slowly walks and was still listening to the old lady. She had almost bumped into somebody getting a book.

As uncomfortable as the situation seemed to have become..Kevin rode it out calmly. The story was almost over, and he could wait for them to go and then leave without anyone suspecting anything about him. His tendency toward rationalizing and intellectualizing was in full force just now, in perfect harmony with his desire to not be conspicuous at all.

The woman smiles and looks straight Kevin. "We never know were a werewolf may be... but one thing we know for sure. The more human the person, the stronger the wolf." He eyes flash red for just a moment, and only in a way that Kevin could see. "Any questions?"

Kevin moved his head a little closer to the book, as if he was having trouble seeing the words...which he was, but for entirely different reasons. The first question that came to his mind was what would have happened if he had declined to eat a flower, possibly because he wasn't about to ask anything aloud. There were other, more obvious questions that he could imagine the answers to easily enough, after all.

Well, if he ever wanted to, he could ask the kid right at his foot to ask his questions for him. Assuming he doesn't spill his guts on who told him to ask, that is.

Kevin glances through the bottom pages of the book at the kid. Telling a kid to ask questions about a story you just pretended not to hear at all would be foolish; Kevin thinks of a more subtle way. He mutters quietly to himself, as if reading a few lines of some poem, "But was the chosen /picked at random, /are there a million more?" It's quiet enough that only the one kid nearby should be able to hear him..

The kid blinks... but evidently he gets the hint. He realays the question. The old lady hmms, but she does answer. After a time.

"The chosen was not chosen at random. It would be one who is not only human, but also one who can deal with the change. One who can escape every full moon and not get caught. One who can get the teaching and knowledge that she would require to fight Master. The number of people who fit that list is few and far between. The queen simply chooses the one that is best positioned for the job. So no, they are not randomly choosen. And no, there are not millions."

"There is only ever one chosen. It is a great honor... and a great sacrifice."

Kevin stays quiet, almost nodding but not quite. The other answer probably wouldn't have made much difference..weakened or not, ignoring a demigod's command is generally not something a sensible person does. There are other questions...but of the sort he will have to answer for himself. He gives no overt indication of accepting the task at the moment, because that would risk exposing him; there are no signs he rejected it, however.
Hopefully the queen will trust him to think things through, rather than trying to incessantly pull strings. If he's going to fight this 'Master', he's going to need every advantage possible...

The lady smiles and looks around. "Are there any other questions? No? Then I must be going." She slowly gets up, and it's almost as if the air vibrates with the creaking of her bones. She slowly heads out the door, and the kids suddenly burst back into chatter.
