Kevin listens in. There's something he wants to ask a stranger from this crowd..probably an adult stranger..but only once the place is quieter and not so many around.
Right now, the crowd-chatter causes him to notice for the first time his more sensitive hearing..he has a little less trouble than usual focusing in on single conversations that sound like they might contain helpful or interesting information.

There really isn't anything usefull. Kid chatter. Like, 'What a cool story!' or 'I want to be a werewolf!', and the everpresent 'I will be the next chosen one!'

The girl watch the old lady get up and then realize that she had to hurry back to work. With the books in her arms she began to speed up her pace but didn't see Kevin in the chair. She at once trips over the chair and falls into it. Her books fly out of her hands and she into his lap.

Kevin, still waiting for the crowd to clear (and still pretending to read), doesn't expect the unintentional assault.
"Ack!" He manages to block a dropped book or two from smacking him in the face..mostly by using the book he was 'reading' as a shield. Then he makes the most polite response he can manage to the situation: He leans back and says, "Uh, are you all right miss?" before tacitly offering to help her back onto her feet and off his lap.

"OH! I am so sorry! So sorry! So so very sorry!" said the girl as her glasses were aswked and was about to fall off her face. She was able to get back to her feet and looked very nervous. "I didn't meant to bother you! I am so sorry for distrubing you!"

Kevin shakes his head, getting up as soon as there's room to. "Don't worry about it. People trip." He looks to the books that were dropped and starts collecting them, stacking them on a nearby table. "You work here?"

Some of the books were general children books but it seems like a few of them were about werewolves and things that 'bumped' in the night.

"Still so sorry," said the girl as she fixed her glasses and frowned in shame. She then nodded a bit and said, "Yes sir. I work here as a librarian."

He continues retrieving books, giving an affable smile along the way. "I guess you hear a lot of stories. Same woman always tell 'em?"

"A few of them. Not all of them since I am sometimes busy but I do believe this woman comes to tell this story a few times," said the girl as she fixed her glasses and helped pick up the books. She was putting them on the table close by.

Kevin continues helping with the books until they're stacked again, a little surprised at the sheer number of books the woman was trying to carry on her own. "Is it true?" he asks without pausing, and without any difference in inflection, as if it were a perfectly fine small-talk question. This is what he's been leading up to, a very easy question to misinterpret or see as a joke..but a piercing one if taken seriously.

"I am not sure. It goes against any werewolf lore that I have researched yet it makes a good origin story about the idea of werewolves," said the girl as she was fixing the books that were on the table.

Kevin nods amicably. "You need any more help with these? Seems like a lot to try and carry at one time," he says.

"Oh no! I can't trouble you with that! I mean I can carry these!" said the girl as she stacks the books on top of them. She then place her arms around them to get a good grip of them but it seems like she was having trouble with them due to how high they were. "It is my job after all."

He watches this with some concern, but doesn't move to take anything since she declined the offer. "I know that, we all have to make money. Still...An extra trip or two would be worth not falling over or dropping them, wouldn't it?"

"I guess so but I almost got it," said the girl as she struggled and finally got to pick them up. She seem to be leaning over a bit as she was trying to balance herself. "It just that I want to hurry a bit is all since there are so many books here."
