Taking the pen in her hand, Paul slowly looks down at the papers. Was she really going to do this...? She'd agreed, sure, but signing again...for this...as a girl...
Letting her eyes focus in on her previous signature, the girl clicks the pen. 'Paul French'--that was her name, written there. But why? Why had she let herself do that in the first place...?
Was this what they called a mid-life crisis? The phrase, though accurate, seemed somehow inadequate for the situation.
Pausing again, Paul bites her lip. This was already strange enough without a change in name as well...but it did only make sense. Didn't it? Ever since meeting the man--Julius--earlier, strange things had started to make sense, to the point where now it seemed altogether alien to the girl, though.
But...
It was stupid, and strange, and crazy, but after a moment, as if looking on from without, Paul saw her hand move, crossing out her previous signature, and signing hesitantly with a new one--'Paulette'. It was a silly sounding kind of name, and more girlish then she had meant, but with all the changes, she needed something to hold on to, so she had kept what of her name she could.
"...Alright."
