Flinching at the pun, Paulette gives the man a nod. Unbearable was right--was she really working for this guy?
As the girl looked back to the man in black expectantly, it made her sigh to realize that the answer at this point was, unfortunately, a definite yes. She'd signed the contract not once, but twice by this point, so it was hard to make a mistake. It was, however, humiliating.

"Right...well, are you thinking you want to buy that, then...?"

Looking back to the man in black nonplussed, she taps her foot, and then stops, thinking better of it. Her...boss was right here, after all.

---

Meanwhile! Back in Richard's apartment, Richard settles back down with his laptop to write. Literature was actually an interesting class, all things considered, so in theory, this paper shouldn't be too difficult Unfortunately, in practice, this was seeming to be not the case. Usually he wasn't too much a procrastinator, but today he just couldn't seem to keep his thoughts together--he'd taken that walk to go clear his egg, and ended up buying that silly egg, for goodness sakes.
After a few minutes however, Richard finds himself finally starting to settle into the writing, having finally plowed through the introduction, and was typing away, with minimal pause.

He's gotten about halfway through, when...he realizes that he's sweating. That's weird, isn't it? He had the heat turned up, but not THAT high...

*Richard subconciously wipes the sweat away, before he realizes that it shouldn't be hot enough for that.* What the...? *Leaving his paper for a moment, Richard gets up to check on his air conditioner.*

As Richard walks out to see what happened, he is greeted by a heat that generally he would only associate with some kind of desert. Entering the livingroom, (his throat now dry from the heat), his gaze will likely fall back to the egg.
Why?
Well, because it is glowing. Perhaps the stars aligned, perhaps his heater was just the right temperature, or maybe the movement was the last part of a hatching ritual, but whatever the case is, the shell of the egg is very nearly lighting up the room with its luminescence!

Coming closer to the egg, Richard will take more and more of the brunt of the heat. His skin is feeling quite dry, and his tongue is like an alien in his parched mouth...and yet--maybe if he can just touch the egg? Get it of the heater?

Mandy chewed her bottom lip to keep her from talking back as Esper continued, before she felt that tightening around her throat again as the older girl pulled her leash. She blushed brightly, crawling along after her, looking up at Esper's panties under her skirt, which made her feel even more embarrassed as they were no doubt much more mature than her own plain white cotton ones. She heard snickering, but didn't dare lift her gaze from the floor as she was led through the school in her costume with Christine. "Chrissie... I'm sorry... ", she whispered.

*Going off some vague instinct, Richard reaches out and grabs the egg.*

As Richard's hand approach's the egg, it feels for a moment as though it will burst into flame from the sheer proximity...after a moment though, he manages to force his hand forward. No sooner does he lay a finger on it however, then the shell cracks!

All at once, the feeling of heat around the room seems to increase tenfold at this--apparently, the rainbow of the egg was the only thing holding back the heat from within! Stumbling back, Richard can just see a reptilian eye blink from the crack in the shell...before the heat heats him full force...and all at once his clothes burst into flame! Maybe this was not the wisest of purchases.

Crap, crap, crap... *Richard drops the egg and runs for the door. ...Assuming it's not stuck to his hand, or something.*

The egg drops to the ground easily enough--he hears a cracking as he runs...but well, this isn't the time to be looking, is it? As he runs, Richard's hair may start to get in his face though...weird. Was it actually red, or was that a trick of the light? He didn't remember getting it dyed, that's for sure. The fire on his clothes meanwhile continues to burn, exposing more and more skin...but strangely, not seeming to burn the skin itself, stopping at his body hair. His pants are almost entirely done away with however...

*Richard brushes the hair out of his face, being too panicked by the flaming rainbow egg of death to worry too much about the color discrepancy, and opens the door once he's close enough.* F-fire! Help!

Richard throws the door open...to find the bathroom. Darnit--in his haste to call for help, he must have gotten turned around, and opened the first door he saw! And the burning is only getting hotter, too--it feels like his body is nearly melting from the heat...and wait--there in the mirror. He seemed awfully...slim. Maybe it wasn't the time to worry about that, all things considered, but he can't help but be surprised-his body's whole shape seems different, and his hair...it looks for a second like it's caught on fire as well, before he realizes that it is now very long, and very red...but ah! More importantly, maybe the shower can douse his flame?

*Richard briefly stares it himself in the mirror, caught off guard by his seeming change in appearance... Then he remembers that he's still on fire, and climbs into the shower and starts the water.*

The water hits Richard's body...but he can barely feel it, the liquid seeming to boil away into steam after just barely touching his skin. It's still something though, and turning the water up as much as it will go, he slowly feels his body cooling...the flames themselves finally dying down! Though, the metal of his greaves, gauntlets and armor seems to be pretty heated still.
...
Wait a minute.
