Interesting. So its already progressed to about that point in events? *He stands up and begins to meander down the street.* Let us see if we can't find this legendary person. Even if I fail to do so I'm sure I'll find something of note around here.

"The... end result? Isn't that still just beige? I mean, sure, it'll make it more... um... I guess wastland then before, but the effect is the same. Or am I missing something here?"

It's time for the arcade! This one has a pretty wide selection of games, from retro shooters to some pretty high-tech VR games!

As Sam enters, however, she'll notice a small crowd seems to have formed around one new game near the entrance! It appears to be one of those light gun games, with the rather evocative title of "TF MONSTER". A teenaged boy seems to be playing it, with someone that must be his friend cheering him on, while the crowd watches.

"Watch out! Watch out! You're getting hit!"

"I can take a few hits! I've got that color shield I picked up earlier."

"It's not gonna last! You're gonna get turned into a girl!"

"Dammit, no one's turning me into a girl! Watch this!"

With a rather accurate-looking shot, he fires at the boss, sending her flying back, before she explodes! The screen suddenly pauses, with the words "Level Clear" and the player's score appearing.

"Wow, you actually did it!"

"Gotta go for the head shots. They're weak there," the boy playing the game proclaims proudly. "Told you she wouldn't turn me into a girl."

Sam pauses for a moment, having about to go to one of the retro shooters to warm up a bit, before spotting the crowd. "Oh, wow~!" Sam says, stepping up to the crowd and watching the guy fighting against the monster and then winning, before clapping a little. She watches on, wondering what he's going to have to face next.

"Ja," says Bones, as he points to something distant behind the woman. "What in the nine blazes of the abyss is that thing?!" O____o

Reya sighs as she leans back into her chair, stretching at her desk.

"Yeah, I finished it all right, but I didn't find it too hard to work out, like usual... Are you sure it isn't just you?"

Reya probably comes off as a bit snide, but this is her intent. Lord knows how Hikari will take it- well, if you ignore the other girl's personality entirely, anyways. So Reya presses on.

"Why don't you get some help if you think the home work is too hard- they do have tutors after all..." and leave me alone while you're at it.

Reya then gives Hikari a completely innocent "*%$# you and go to hell" smile, hoping the other girl will take the bait and leave her alone for at least until class officially starts.

Hikari blushes. "Well, umm, you could be right..." she admits in embarassment. After a moment, though, she brightens up. "I know! You could help tutor me, right? You're so smart!" she asks, looking at Reya with those big, innocent eyes.

(Damn, this moved fast )

"Well you won't catch me wasting my time at the lab. There's trials for athletics club after school", said Summer between spoonfuls of cereal. "Thanks, Mom", smiled Katherine as they were handed their lunches, "We've got a biology test today, and I really think I'm going to get a good score on it". Summer rolled her eyes and washed down her cereal with some juice, "Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to have you as a sister?". Katherine's eyes narrowed a little as she got to her feet, "Likewise...", she muttered as she collected the breakfast bowls and quickly rinsed them out at the sink. Summer laughed as she got up and went to dry off the dishes, and placed them back in the cupboard. After grabbing their school bags, the pair lined up to give Dr Bellisarius another hug, "Have fun at work, Mom", said Katherine as they hurried out of the apartment and ran to the elevator, which took them all the way down to the ground level. From there they started their walk across the pleasant city, towards the general knowledge high school they were both enrolled at, chattering away about science projects and sporting accolades.

(( Sorry. Mostly because I couldn't resist trying to bait Lord Bones! ^_^; )

Dr. Bellisarius smiles, and waves to the two girls as they set out. Once they're gone, she pulls out her phone. "Andrea... yes, it's me. Have you got those reports on the new chemical compound yet? I can't let us fall behind the competition, especially if it's that blasted Eleanor involved..." she mutters.

Meanwhile, however, the two girls make their way to school! Unlike Reya and Maris' more sophisticated academy, the two girls are attending a public school. Still, it seems clean, open, and friendly.

Just outside of the school, however, they come across an unpleasant scene -- a pair of bigger boys are throwing mushy apples at a young girl. "Ha, ha! Stupid girl! Eat these tomapples!" "She's turning into a ditz!" "Naw, she was a ditz already! Ha ha!" the two bullies crow with glee, as the girl breaks down in tears.

The next stage of the game begins! As with most lightgun games, however, the final boss doesn't appear yet -- instead, they have to fight their way through mobs of mooks first! This stage appears to be populated with zombies -- zombies throwing pinemangos like grenades! Fortunately, the boy playing the game seems adept enough at shooting them out of the air, and even collects a technological anti-yellow shield along the way, as he guns down hordes of somewhat-cute zombies.

Eva chuckles. "Oh... I suppose I can give you a phew hints." She takes on a more lecturing tone. "Now... what exactly does beige do?" she asks.

As Rei starts to wander down the street... he notices a somewhat buxom scientist in a lab coat looking around, as if lost!

Kuroko blinks, and studies the cat for a moment. "Hmm... it's a cute cat..." she admits, before turning back to face Bones. "Haven't you seen one before?"

Ashley wanders around a little until he happens upon the Chibiwanbanshu shrine. Out of curiosity, he makes his way towards it.

Ashley comes across the newly-completed shrine! It appears to be a traditional Shinto shrine, built amidst the high-tech metropolis of Academy City. There is a vague sense of serenity here, and of loss...

Of course, directly opposite the shrine is the enormous and monolithic black granite wall of the Color Isolation and Containment Facility, with the names of several young girls still carved into it.

(( I'll ask Feng to describe the shrine more, since I'm not certain if anyone's maintaining it or any other details about what may be there... ))

Shay rolls his eyes, but he pays attention. "Beige makes things normal, compared to whatever enviroment it is in. So here, for example, it would probably make wastland survivors or CTC agents."

Eva nods. "But... how is 'what is normal' determined? After all, at one point beige was connected to Colonel Mundane and his army. Later it was associated with the Sand Academy, and schoolgirls. So what defines the end result? Is it simply the environment? But beige exists in multiple places... and can have varying effects. So what controls the result? What -- or who -- decides what is 'normal'?"

Shay pauses. He thinks rather hard. "...I always assumed that it was just a group collective, the subconcious waves amplyfing each other as it goes. I thought that was why it was so hard to change back once you got transformed... but if there is only one person deciding it, that changes everything. Have you found a way to control its effects?"

Bones has disappeared! Where could that man have gone to?

The shrine looks like a typical wooden Shinto shrine yet with an obvious Chibi element about it, made obvious by the jade statue of a penguin that watches from the courtyard. It might look a little something like this:

Feeling interested in the serene aspect of the shrine, Ashley makes his way over to it, observing the statue of the penguin for a moment. Reaching out, he gives the statue a poke.

[Feng]

The statue doesn't respond. Its just a statue.

Ashley then proceeds to make his way over to the shrine and walk around it, feeling the wood as he goes.
