Victorious wrote:"Ah...I understand."
Victor gives another slow nod. This group seemed a more...well, a more well-rounded one, not that the council had treated him badly, per se...
"Like--Merah, and the others then. Right..."
Caine smirks slightly. "I suppose you could say that. I like to think we're a bit more efficient at what we do, though."
She glances at the inflatable Mischa, and impishly flicks a finger against the rounded black curves of her hair, sending her bouncing about again! The white-haired woman then turns back to Victor. "So, did you have any other questions? Perhaps I should show you around a bit."

The crowd seems to settle down a bit at Sam's apology, and turn back to watching the boy play the game. While he's been set back a bit, he seems to be getting his groove back, and manages to just barely squeak out a win against the zombie!
"Wow! I can't believe you cleared that!" the boy's friend says, and there's some gentle applause from the crowd as they're apparently impressed too. "FINAL LEVEL!" starts flashing on the screen, before it clears to reveal that the player is now climbing up along the rooftops of skyscrapers, all gleaming and white, Mirror's Edge-style. Busty angels start coming down to attack, looking rather ditzy and vapid!

Summer nodded, and handed over her lunch bag to Katherine, "Perfect... a work out before class... ". Her skirt gently swished about her thighs as she walked up behind the boys, and bent down to pick an apple up off the floor. "Hey, jerks, why don't you pick on someone your own size?", she called, while Katherine tried to get the attention of the young girl and motion her over.
The two boys turn to face Summer, fists clenched and smirking at the thought of new prey... but as soon as they realize who it is, they pale a bit. "Oh, s***, it's her!" the smaller of the two mutters. "D-don't worry! I can take her!" the larger says, but the smaller backs up a step. "No way, man, I heard she took down Jack and Al last week!"
The larger boy pauses at that, but his face fills with stubborn pride. "I'm not letting some sissy girl tell me what to do!" he says, and lunges to swing a wild punch at Summer!
Meanwhile, the sobbing girl spots Katherine, and runs over to her side. A small crowd seems to be gathering to watch, but oddly just as many children seem eager not to get involved, and continue onwards into the school!
Aeris wrote:"W-wait, what?!"
Reya blinks at the girl with a surprised expression, completely thrown off by the girl's twisted logic. Where the hell did she get the idea that I should tutor her? How freaking dense can you be?!
Reya recomposes herself, glowering at anyone looking their way and to discourage anyone from riling things up any more.
"L-look Hikari, I don't really have time to tutor you. I have a younger sister that I have to look after and I have to help her with her school work a lot..."
"But if you're already helping someone with school work, you could help me out too! Pleeeeeease?" she asks plaintively, those big deep eyes staring at Reya pleadingly.
Fortunately, however, the school bell rings! Hikari winces, but slips into her desk. "Think about it, okay?" she asks, before the teacher walks in.
It's time for tensor calculus!

Bones wanders through the city, finding it to be a fairly happy, quiet place. Electric cars hum past, while the crowds seem to be fairly diverse but get along well enough. There's some scattered parks and a variety of shops.
A CTC drone passes by, but doesn't pay him any special attention.
KonokoHasano wrote:"Huh..." Giving a shrug, Ashley turned around and walked off to... somewhere else.
As Ashley leaves the shrine, he'll spot a big, somewhat thuggish-looking teenager run by, grabbing a stone and hurling it at the enormous marble wall! The stone bounces off the wall harmlessly, but the teen makes a rude gesture and shouts, "Jerks!" before running off!
Before Ashely can respond, however, he'll hear a soft hiss. "Psst! You there! I would like to speak with you..." another voice says from the shadows.
Rei H. wrote:Hello miss. Could I help you with finding anything?
"Ahhh... possibly." She lets out a sigh, and tugs at her lab coat. "I've been walking around all morning trying to find the AFC2 Ops Facility. Although I doubt you'd know where it is..." She mutters, and starts to slip off her lab coat. "Just too hot... oof..."
Shy Shay wrote:Shay blinks. "...what are you planning? You've got a large number of people here... so... what is your intent, and should I be worried?"
Eva chuckles. "So you've figured out that part of it, at least." She shrugs. "We've worked to establish a few memeplexes here... nothing particularly significant, but enough to encourage the sort of mindset we prefer. We're still monitoring the results to see if any additional tweaking is necessary, but so far things look promising."
"As for being worried, I'm not certain that should be an issue. After all, the end result should be something similar to Academy City." She smiles. "Your own results are an indication at that. After all... say you held up a purple square in front of a blue background. It would be easy to tell where one started and the other began, right? But if you could adjust the hue of the square so that it became increasingly blue... you'd start losing sight of it, as it blended into the background."
She gestures at the facility around her. "We believe that's why your detectors are sensing a reduced presence of beige -- it's still here, it's just more like the background we've created for it."
