The history of man is a long one, going back thousands upon thousands of years. One of the most important lessons Mother Nature taught to her son Man was how to survive. This usually comes down to either, A -- punching the charging lion in the face, or B -- running away from the stampeding wilder beasts. To Robert's marvel he finds his instincts swelling up from some long forgotten past... and responds by throwing his arms up like wet noodle... and promptly running in the nearest direction that is not the, in his own words, an all consuming evil portal of death created by a creepy little girl that is out to destroy him and all that he loves!

"... sweet mother of... YAH!" Marquis turns and attempts to run. "This isn't normal at all!"

Luke is a little too stunned to react in time to the expanding light. "Well, damn. I sure didn't expect that!"

Anthony is a little shocked to see the little girl summon up the orb of light, that starts to suck everything inside of it. The most logical thing woul of been to stop the girl. But, she had already left through it. Which meant that it was probably safe. Well..safe as in 'You might not be torn apart limb from limb' safe. However, his animal guard started to get pulled in. Using the break in attention of the dear, he runs NNW, as fast as he can.

"RUN!" declares Rick as he turns tail and runs. This had to be some sick joke or something, this all couldnt be real... it just couldnt!

[Blaze]

Those who were too close are consumed by the light! Those that run... put it off for a few seconds as the light rapidly expands with great speed, swallowing them too! It continues to grow until it swallows the whole town before stopping... and vanishing, taking the town with it! Where it once stood was an empty field with a few roads running through it, no trace of the town remaining.

Of course, the eight men don't know this, as they are too busy feeling like they're being broken up into individual atoms, and each atom is being squeezed through a hole smaller then the atoms at the speed of light. And the holes are going uphill.

"What the-" said Marco as the light was absorbing him. He then feels a feeling as if he was being torn appart and forced into a small container that was moving at the speed of light.

Robert scrambles for a few more steps... then suddenly finds his very concept of reality falling away from him. He screams as long as he has air, but that likely isn't forever.

Being torn apart into itty bitty likely isn't that bad. It's like like being drunk. Though if you want to know what that is like, perhaps you should ask a glass of water... (Yes. I made that reference. Sue me.)

Being largely disembodied makes it kind of hard to cry out in pain, and that's the only reason Luke doesn't. He does think, however. WTF is going on!? Is about as coherent as he's able to manage, though.

[Zoey]

Rick tries as hard as he can before also being engulfed by the light. For a few seconds he thought he had died as he could feel his body be atomized. Well, atleast it was a good life...

Alan acks as he is caught and engulfed by the light. Going through the weird sensation of being atomized, though, he was entirely confused, wondering what the heck was going on.

Richard yells, as he was so close that he didn't even get the chance to run. Of course, his reaction would be somewhere between confusion and 'totally freaking out right now!'

Anthony had been able to buy himself a few valuable seconds of time over the non runners. He spent it well, by saying "Oh, bugger.." As it caught up to him, and swallowed apart. He then spent the next bit being torn into atoms..because, you know, he's done that all the time. He doesn't seem to try to start a conversation with one of the other 7, for obvious reasons, and instead has his attention fully occupied by the probably excruciating pain.

Now I feel bad for being the one to make people wait so long. XP]

Marquis initially closed his eyes as the light swallowed him, but then began to scream in pain from the feeling that came next. "YAAAAAAAHHHHHH! OH GOD! THE PAAAAAAAIIIIIN!" Even in pain he was a bit dramatic. "I SHOULD HAVE BEEN BRIGHTER AND FLED WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE!!!"

... nothing like a pun to try and make a bad situation better.
