The Maze: Part 1 Of Dreams and Nightmares

Lee awakens. The room he is in is not the one in which he went to sleep, nor is it a place he has seen before. His small cot sits as the lone white object in a room where the ceiling, floor, and walls are ebony black. There are windows in the room, but the outside of those windows seems to be just as dark as the inside, or perhaps they've been painted. It is hard to see if there is anything in the room that isn't the walls or windows, given that black objects don't stand out on a black background that well.

Ryan awakens, but not where he went to sleep. Rather, he seems to be lying on a gigantic pink mushroom. One in a sea of mushrooms of all shapes and sizes. The sky above him is faintly orange with purple clouds and there seems to be a strange sound in the distance.

HannaH wakes up. She has never seen this place before, and will never see it again once she leaves. Every surface in the almost spherical room is a mirror, each at a slight angle with the rest. Each reflects her, though her face in each is different. Some are happy. Some are scared. Some seem to bear the scars of a hard life. Eachis her reflection but none is her.


All three can feel the alien nature of the environment. Beyond that, each can feel a sensation of being watched, almost like some eldritch creature is gazing down at them curiously, studying and perhaps even observing.

Hannah woke with a thumping headache after another late night partying. She was face down against a mirrored surface, her long blonde hair loose around her. She wore a skimpy red camisole top, and a tiny black skirt, but her feet were bare. She moaned at the cold and hard surface beneath her, her eyes opening as she pushed herself up to her hands and knees, peering around in confusion. Usually being greeted with multiple reflections of herself would be welcome, but the oddness of each one looking slightly different unsettled her. Climbing to her feet, she could see her own white silk underwear reflected in the mirror beneath her, making her press her thighs together as she turned and called. "Hello?".

Lee awakens, already knowing something was wrong. For one thing, he didn't remember his room being completely black. And for another, he's fairly certain he didn't go to bed fully clothed. He stood up with a groan, looking at the white cot his bed apparently turned into. "Weird..." He walked over to one of the windows and looked through it. He sighed, not seeing anything, and tried to open the window for a better look.

Ryan's eyes slowly slide open from his slumber. He doesn't recall ever having painted his ceiling purple and orange -- let alone install a full atmosphere in it -- but he has forgotten other important things before. He stares up at those wispy cottony purple clouds just wondering where things went wrong. The man ponders, but for the life of him he can't recall anything out of the ordinary he did last night. He sits up, and mutters "...I'm still sleeping... or Drew had to have slipped something into my water... ugh."

As he rubs the sleep from his eyes, it slowly starts to dawn on him. ...this is more serious then he thought! He doesn't even have his computer with him! Ryan jolts awake at that, "...okay. Okay. Giant mushrooms... weird colors... and some... err whatever that noise is... it doesn't sound good." He frowns, and gets up... and tests the surface of the mushroom. When he doesn't explode into a fine red mist, well if he doesn't, he peers over the horizon "...it's all the same... just... giant... mushrooms." The man tries to decipher the noise, as he looks for a way down.

Off in the distance Ryan can see what seems to be an indigo cyclone that's heading toward him, tearing up the mushrooms as it moves.

"Hello" "Hello" "Hello" The sound echoes back through the mirrors. One waves happily toward Hannah while another her tries to sneak a peak up her skirt from below.

Oddly the window seems to be quite stuck. In fact, it doesn't seem to be a real window at all. It's just a black surface cleverly painted to look like a completely black window.

Nagajuna Suresh wakes up. He has never been here before, never woken up standing on what seems to be the perforated edge of some monstrous golden coin suspended in darkness. Then again, you couldn't really blame Nagajuna Suresh. Few have ever woken up that way before.

Keith Reilly wakes up. When did he wake up and how? Perhaps it has been a thousand years since he went to sleep. Certainly he did not go to sleep in this place, so why assume he went to sleep in this time. Regardless, he can hear the sound of a thousand ticking clocks. As he opens his bleary eyes, Keith Reley can see that he is surrounded by a thousand manic clocks. Each is sprinting around on a pair of legs, though not all the legs are the same. They seem to be fighting each other.

Lily Cameron wakes up. It's hard to say whether she knows the place or the time... After all, you tend not to notice where you are when you suddenly find yourself submerged in several feet of water. Drowning is rather distracting.

Drew Allen awakens. He seems to be falling. He can't see the ground below him or the sky above; but he can see walls of dirt to all sides. This is probably not a good thing.

Lee sighed. "Of course..." He started knocking on the walls, trying to find a door or something that would get him out of this room. He took careful steps, making sure not to fall onto any object that he couldn't see.

Drew Allen awakens. He seems to be falling. He can't see the ground below him or the sky above; but he can see walls of dirt to all sides. This is probably not a good thing.

Drew groans a little as he suddenly wakes up, a look of complete confusion on his face, but, upon noticing something wasn't right, he blinkblinks, before his eyes open wide. Frantically he looks up, down, and all-around, before suddenly screaming bloody murder as he realizes he is falling down...quite possibly to his doom!

Lily snaps open in a panic!

WATER!

EVERYWHERE!

She flounders for a moment, her first instinct to take a big gulp of air, but that's clearly not a wise choice. She fights that urge with all her might, but she can't help sucking in a bit of water as she frantically swims away from gravity, hardly even looking as she madly burbles for the surface.

Hannah pressed one hand against her short skirt as she squeezed her thighs together and glared down at the reflection that had tried to catch a peek of her underwear. Sinking down onto her hands and knees, she reaches out, brushing her fingers along the edges between the mirror panels, trying to search for some kind of gap that she could use to pull them apart and escape...

Hannah pressed one hand against her short skirt as she squeezed her thighs together and glared down at the reflection that had tried to catch a peek of her underwear. Sinking down onto her hands and knees, she reaches out, brushing her fingers along the edges between the mirror panels, trying to search for some kind of gap that she could use to pull them apart and escape...

As Hannah's hands touch one of the mirrors, her twin, a version of her wearing some high school uniform reaches out to grab her and pull her in.

Lily snaps open in a panic!

WATER!

EVERYWHERE!

She flounders for a moment, her first instinct to take a big gulp of air, but that's clearly not a wise choice. She fights that urge with all her might, but she can't help sucking in a bit of water as she frantically swims away from gravity, hardly even looking as she madly burbles for the surface.

Lily should find the surface relatively quickly. She seems to be in a quickly moving lake. There's the sound of water falling in the distance. Fortunately, the longer she stays in the water, the easier it seems to swim.

Drew groans a little as he suddenly wakes up, a look of complete confusion on his face, but, upon noticing something wasn't right, he blinkblinks, before his eyes open wide. Frantically he looks up, down, and all-around, before suddenly screaming bloody murder as he realizes he is falling down...quite possibly to his doom!

And Drew hits the ground and bounces back high into the air. It would seem that he's on some sort of massive trampoline.

Lee sighed. "Of course..." He started knocking on the walls, trying to find a door or something that would get him out of this room. He took careful steps, making sure not to fall onto any object that he couldn't see.

As Lee hits a wall it falls over, revealing that the 'house' was actually made of very thin cardboard-like substance. Lee seems to be standing in a desert, but he can see a forest of mushroom off to the distance on one side, and a cliff to the other, with a massive waterfall cascading off beautifully.

Off in the distance Ryan can see what seems to be an indigo cyclone that's heading toward him, tearing up the mushrooms as it moves.

Ryan does the only thing a man should do when finding themselves in a world that doesn't make sense with weather that is likely to kill him...

...he panics and makes a jump for it! Hopefully the ground isn't too far down... or he lands on another mushroom. If he doesn't break anything he'll keep moving!

Hannah let out a suprise gasp as the reflection actually grabbed her by the hand, and pulled her downwards, "What the... Let go!", she yelled. Not expecting such a thing, she didn't have much time to try and grab on, and was tugged into the mirror head first, her bottom and legs flipping over and disappearing into the mirror with the rest of herself.

Lilly coughed and sputtered, desperately trying to eject the water she had inhaled. She fought to remain on the surface as sweet air entered her lungs once again. She could almost cry from all the coughing she was doing, but she was alive!

When the coughing slows down and her panic begins to fade to raw nervousness, she takes stock of the situation. The water seems to be flowing rapidly, and there's a sound of rushing water in the distance. She takes a moment to rest, listening to the sound of the rushing water as she catches her breath. Then she swims sideways, slightly against the current, attempting to find the edge of this body of water. Hopefully she can get somewhere grounded enough to let her survey the area.

Swimming seems a lot easier, now that she's gotten her senses about her and isn't floundering like a mad woman. It'd been years since she'd last been swimming... not since her friend Kaylee's 18th birthday party. Thankfully, she had had quite a few lessons during her childhood, which was probably why she had been able to keep herself from drowning. Thank you Mr. Larson! She is oblivious to the ease of her swimming, though she's never swam in a fast-moving body of water before to know how hard it is.

Lee smirked at his success and stepped outside of the room, covering his eyes from the sun (If there is any), he looks around the desert and blinked. "Huh... What an odd site in a desert..." He said, looking at the 'forest of mushrooms'. Then again, being trapped in a giant black box in the middle of a desert wasn't exactly normal...

He shrugged and headed to the waterfall. After all, it was common sense to go towards water in a desert.

And Drew hits the ground and bounces back high into the air. It would seem that he's on some sort of massive trampoline.

Drew blinkblinks in confusion as he suddenly bounces back up into the air, before looking down, spotting the massive trampoline of sorts. "What the...?" He says as he flies back into the air, looking up to see what he can see for a moment, before attempting to try and slowly stop his bouncing high into the air the next time he lands, trying to move away from where he bounced up the first time to at least try and get off of whatever the hell he's on!
