"Magic, huh? I didn't think that looked quite like pyrokinesis," says Zoe.

[Raleigh]

Aye. I'm pretty much entirely magic down to my components. This form is just animated dust and such so as to interact with your kind of you want to know the truth. Pyrokinesis is more psychic in nature and tends to center a bit more on the manipulation of already existing flames on average. The really advanced ones I suppose do have the whole fire starter ability to work with though.

[Zoe]

"Ah. Well, I can't say I know anything about magic. I do know about psychic powers, that's all we have where I'm from, in terms of difficult-to-explain phenomena. Well, I mean if you don't count the dimensional rips..." (For the record, he's still following along the way)

[Raleigh]

Rachel, want to join us? *Raleigh calls out to her before they get too far away.* We're going for pizza.

We have psychic powers here too. Pretty much all supernatural phenomena occur here thanks to it being more or less one of those hub realms where the dimensional walls are rather thin and the various powerful beings occasionally opening portals and forgetting to close them. Some of us are even capable of using all such powers for that matter. If you ever find you need a power you don't have you can always look me up. I sell both items and power ups to get them as well as run a school designed to teach such things.

[Zoe]

"That is pretty impressive..not much I could trade for that sort of thing now, though. First I'd probably just need a home and a consistent source of income. The world I'm from has the opposite problem..people being randomly pulled out due to damage to whatever is supposed to keep dimensions apart. Same thing as what happened to me."

[Raleigh]

Sounds like the sort of thing I have to usually repair. Mind if I scan you for a moment so as to get a sample of the realm you are from so I know where to go and get to work? *Around the corner they can see a place labeled Tony's Pizza Shack.*

[Zoe]

"Wow, really? Don't mind at all if you can help with that..does this scanning hurt?"

[Raleigh]

Not in the least. You'll hardly know I'm doing it. *Holds open the door for Zoe.* Step on in. Oi, Tony, set this fella up with a pizza.

Tony: Bite me ya a... errr sorry sir. What can I get you young man?

[Zoe]

"Then, I don't mind at all." After answering, Zoe glances at the menu for a meat lover's pizza or some equivalent thereof, and politely orders a medium-sized one of those and some water.

[Raleigh]

Tony: Of course. Pick a table and I'll have it out in a minute.

*Raleigh sits back and observes the ordering and the like.*
Raleigh: There, see, no harm in the scan at all.

[Zoe]

Zoe nods and heads to the nearest empty table. "I must ask, though, why would you need permission if it's something I wouldn't even notice?"

[Raleigh]

Perhaps as a courtesy if you will. *Tony brings out the pizza to the table and the water for Zoe.* So, got any ideas on what to do now that you are here?

[Zoe]

Zoe takes a moment to eat an entire slice practically whole and then take a drink before responding. "Well, you see, the dimensional rips happened about a decade or two before I was born, so our government had a program in place for people who got sucked into other dimensions..communication and retrieval at first, but later on, methods of exploration and survival in the case of dimensions that seem habitable. The idea is to learn more about other worlds, since our culture knows practically everything about our own universe. My job was actually monitoring interdimensional communication that was sent back, so I know more about the program than your average citizen. The devices you see me using are standard Jupiteran citizen issue. Anyway, what I'm getting at is, I ought to live here and just report what I find out about this world back to home." He returns to eating.

[Raleigh]

Hehehe, be careful of what you report. Somethings here might be a bit too advanced to take back home. Wouldn't want them to accidentally try to import some tomapples or the like after all or suddenly acquire some of Black Isle's advanced tech.

[Zoe]

The next time Zoe's mouth isn't too full, he says, "Well, in our own universe we've gotten about as far as technology seems able to go. Extradimensional research is one of the few less-explored frontiers. I may be wrong, but seeing the effects of the fruits here..there's little besides surgery that people of my dimension could do for the change of appearance, but I think MPC would be able to thwart the mind-warping effects." He eats another bite or two before pausing. "I should probably explain that. It stands for Mental Permissions Control. Essentially, it amounts to knowing one's own brain and being aware whenever something tries to get access to it, as well as being able to deny that access in most cases, or at least make it extremely difficult. It was originally developed as a method of self-defense against rogue telepaths, but it was later discovered that most people who had that training were also able to stave off the effects of mind-altering drugs such as hallucinogens; it even seems to have made most mental disorders quite preventable."
