Julia, meanwhile, brings the robot around to a point which she can land and jumps off. The robot speeds off into the distance

The mechanical punch connects, causing the monster's head to spin, spitting out acidic black blood from its beak. Rubbing it's cheek with it's wing, the bird glares at the Mecha. Striking a defiant defensive pose, the Kaiju motions for the Mecha to bring it with a motion of its wing.

WAAAAWK!!!

Meanwhile, the CTC ground troops who are unprotected by the shield may or may not find themselves frozen by the minty fresh wrath of the Kaiju!

So far, the environment has been described as being "Antarctic" which, while being uncomfortably cold, isn't so cold that the CTC equipment can't operate. The armored ground forces continue to retreat, although the vehicles are beginning to operate sluggishly as the intense cold interferes with their mechanisms.

Of course, if the CTC troops are suffering, then the ordinary populace must be in dire straits, with extensive hypothermia, if not massive casualties.

Outside of the city, Durant frowns as the wave of cold continues to spread faster. "Murasaki... you have five minutes. Then we drop the hammer."

"Affirmative."

The major glances over at Raleigh. "So... given the sort of tropes we're dealing with, how much firepower do you think it would take to destroy that thing?" she asks. "We're already looking at thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of casualties. But presumably something like that could potentially shrug off a nuclear strike." She frowns. "Perhaps I'll have to request authorization to 'field test' our anti-planetary weapons..."

Meanwhile, the pilot of the mecha simply chuckles. "Cocky little bird, aren't you?" she asks. Her sensors pick up Julia and Light's movements, and she considers a moment. "All right, then," she murmurs, aiming a kick at the penguin's midsection! If she can keep the kaiju focused on the CTC mecha, then perhaps Julia and Light can find a way to stop it.

MEANWHILE,

In Academy City, the CTC troops set up a perimeter around the shrine! Detecting the glowing balls of ectoplasm, they report in... and soon, another vehicle arrives on the scene, Special Adjutant Caine stepping out of an armored HMMWV to investigate. "Well... I don't particularly believe in coincidences," she murmurs, pausing to examine the shrine, before cautiously stepping onto its grounds.

[Blaze]

Blaze checks her watch as the ritual progresses before starting to twiddle her thumbs.

[Feng]

Light infiltrates the ear! Although the tunnel is cramped Light should, with minimal difficulty, be able to traverse it if he so chooses. As for Julia, the kaiju is too distracted by the Mecha kicking it in the chest to notice her make her landing. She better hold on to something though, because the kick just sent the flightless bird flying!

In the Temple
Blaze may notice that her watch is running slower than normal... Could it be a result of the ritual?

Nothing interesting seems to be happening though as Bones is still chanting. Patience though, dear investigator. Things are about to get a lot more interesting!

At the Academy City

As the foolish agent approaches the shrine, she is overwhelmed by a stream of disembodied voices, all female. Young females laughing, giggling, older females scolding, and then screams of terror!

[Blaze]

Blaze rolls her eyes.

"Stupid time dilation... it's bad enough that Muffinville's temporal mechanics are messed up, this thing doesn't need more things messing it up..."

[Bigmouthstrikes]

Light crawled down the hallway quickly moving as all good ninjas should.

Julia, meanwhile, charged across the top of the peguin, gun at the ready. Her approach was somewhat lest tactful.

Light infiltrates the ear! Although the tunnel is cramped Light should, with minimal difficulty, be able to traverse it if he so chooses. As for Julia, the kaiju is too distracted by the Mecha kicking it in the chest to notice her make her landing. She better hold on to something though, because the kick just sent the flightless bird flying!

The mecha's sensors detect Light and Julia's progress. While Light seems to be safely ensconced within the penguin's head, Julia's position is more exposed and precarious. Still, Murasaki can't afford to let the penguin recover and potentially discover the two heroes clambering upon it.

"Hey, birdbrain!" she shouts, the mecha's comm amplifying her voice. "That all you got? You're an embarassment to all movie monsters!" A laser cannon deploys from its arm, and she fires a beam of searing energy at the penguin's body!

At the Academy City

The line between foolishness and bravery can be a narrow one. The silver-haired woman staggers at the sudden onslaught of the stream of voices, and she rests a hand upon the hilt of the dagger at her waist as if to reassure herself, before opening her eyes again. Pausing a moment, she frowns as she considers the multitude of voices, noting their periodic screams of terror, as if they were being repeatedly forced to relive a horrifying experience.

"So... these must be the souls of the victims of the Sand Academy attack..." she murmurs. "But they do not seem to be at rest." Her golden eyes flash for a moment in the light. "While we cannot disavow responsibility, something has gathered them here to exploit these energies..." she says, stepping forwards to continue walking towards the shrine. "...and I cannot allow these unfortunates to suffer any further!"

[Bigmouthstrikes]

Julia, sensing the battle around her, summons a C4 det pack and places it on the penguins head. She detonates it, hopefully creating her own entrance.

Megan looks around and tries to see what she can understand.

[Feng]

Julia's antics succeed only in creating a bald spot on the penguin's head, making the beast quite irate. It claws at its scalp, trying to remove the annoying parasite that has attacked his poor skull. The blasts temporarily distract the kaiju though, sending the bird back by fifty feet.

Taking a moment to catch its breath, the giant penguin glares at the Mecha, ignoring the fact it was trying to remove one Julia earlier. It strikes a strange pose and roars angrily.Tiny rocks begin to float up from the ground while overhead the clouds pass at breakneck speeds...

Inside the penguin's skull, Light might see a faint blue light up ahead. What could that be?

Back at Academy City

"I wouldn't get close if I were you" says a voice coming from the roof of the shrine. A chibi can be seen atop the roof, a Chibiwanbanshu operative perhaps? His face is marked in white face paint, evoking imagery similar to Baron Samedi, voodoo deity of the dead. He is armed with an Uzi which he has trained at the woman's head, yet it seems more that he is trying to keep the CTC agent out instead of threatening to fill her with lead.

Megan can make out few words. Something about the underworld, collapse and... rebirth?

Julia struggled to maintain balance, but ultimately fell over and began to roll.

Light, on the other hand, sped quietly toward the light up ahead, prepping some smoke bombs to cover his entrance.

Murasaki frowns as the penguin takes on its pose, and begins manipulating the earth and air around it. "Hmm... most likely some kind of wind-based attack, perhaps a tornado..." she mutters. "If that's the case..."

Throwing the mecha's throttle forwards, she charges at the kaiju, aiming to grapple with it at point-blank range! "Are you willing to hit yourself, birdbrain?" she shouts.

Back at Academy City

"Oh?" Caine quirks an eyebrow at the figure confronting her from atop the shrine. "Hmmm, a submachine gun resembling the Israeli Military Industries Uzi. I wonder if you actually got it from another world, or if it just bears a striking resemblance?" She shrugs. "At any rate... at least now I have someone to speak with. I don't suppose you'd care to do me the favor of explaining what you're doing here? Your appearance suggests you have some interest in necromancy, perhaps..."

[Blaze]

Blaze looks over at Megan.

"Can you read it?"

*In the sacrificial circle.*
Very well then. I'll intercede for you. Be prepared though as this might be a trip. *Time returns to Stone Beak as Bones is probably wrapping up his chant. In the shadows a physical body of Raleigh's forms dangling from the rafters of the room waiting for the right moment.*

Splut! Amusing. If you thought that would have worked more I think it would have even left some stuff on my face rather than only having the sound effect. Ah, Major, I do believe it could take quite a bit unless you are smart about it. For instance, you could use the oxygen destroyer like they did on Godzilla or perhaps try a microwave weapon that will boil the fluids in its body cooking it alive with less energy cost than other methods. If you are talking about conventional weaponry though I do believe you could wipe out a major portion of the city at least if you expect to do much. Kaiju aren't exactly lightweights when it comes to being damage soaks.

Still, it is a penguin and is likely subject to their weaknesses. Has anyone considered projecting the illusion or hologram of a giant seal?

"Can you read it?"

"Hmm...." said Megan as she looked a bit upset. She looked at Blaze for a moment and said, "I can't understand all of it but something about....underworld, collapse and rebirth. No idea."
