Ickle Harri-chan wrote:Ginny couldn't help but blush as the doors opened to reveal the Princess. She was starting to get used to people being much larger, but this was the first person she'd actually met before as an adult, and now as a child. The difference in height between her and the two women was made even more obvious when Lady Rose lowered her down onto her feet.

Her blue eyes widened in suprise at the Princess recognised the Demon Seductress, and for a moment, hope began to swell inside her chest, but turning to look up at the woman... she saw only amusement at being found out. Her blonde hair swished around as she turned to look back up at the Princess, her mouth falling open. Her blush brightened even more... this would have been bad enough if her identity had been secret... but this way it was so much worse. She'd left, confident that she would be victorious, to the point of being arrogant, and now just one day later, returned as a ten year old child.

"Your Highness... we met yesterday... I left my daughter in your care. I am the Paladin, Ginevra Swann... ", she murmured, nervously playing with the hair that the demon had turned red to match her own. "She... said I'm to be called Lucile now... ". A shiver ran down the child's spine, and she suddenly hurried forward, slipping behind the Princess and clutching her long, elegant dress, peering out timidly at the Seductress. "She has to be stopped!".

The princess giggles. "Ahhh I remember you..." She leans down, patting the former Paladin's head. "I'm glad Rose here found you instead of one of the others... It would have been a shame if you had been ripped to shreds or drained of life by one of the spirits. Rose is the gentle sister of her more rascally brethren." Rose, still bowing, smiles. "You flatter me, Princess..." The Princess smiles back. "Oh of course not... why else would I have summoned you to my side? The others can kill and terrorize... they serve their role in ridding our land of the wretched church."

Looking back to Ginny. "You serve Rose now... and by extension, me. Serve faithfully and there will be a place for you in the new Watchwood. Otherwise... you will remain a little girl... or perhaps a harem slave. Your soul belongs to Rose... you are whatever she wants you to be..."

Blaze wrote:James slumps into a chair and finishes his mouthful of apple before starting to talk.

"Well... for one thing, demon attacks are on the rise. It's not safe to be on the roads at night anymore."

He considers mentioning that he is supposed to be helping to find a way to stop them, but decides against it.

The old man nods. "Yes, even down here I feel the stirring of the old spirits." He smiles a bit as James sits. "Well... you have come into my house and eaten of my food. So you are protected under the rule of hospitality. Know that while you remain in this room you are safe... Now, a answer for an answer... ask me what you would."

Vomica wrote:Ovvar grits his death, and unsheathes another blade... drawing the second one into his off hand. He says, "...Vilehand. You are nothing more than a cheap conjurer of tricks! Do you take me for a fool?" Despite having his blades at the ready, the swashbuckler starts to mutter his own words... concentrating on one of the few tricks he can truly do. Vilehand might be a blood mage, but even supernatural attacks have a direction...

And it seems his direction is all around him! As the body parts explode into chunks of bone and meat... knitting together unnaturally to make skeletons and frankenstein abominations... pieces of armor sewn into their skin as blades jut from their arm bones... sparks of red fire in their eye sockets. The mage himself remains in his cloud of darkness... likely commanding the rank of horrors he has risen.

Brnin8r wrote:Trey stroked Abrosious' mane once as he was encouraged to dismount. Gregor did the same. The Knight-Paladin couldn't shake the feeling of distrust. These people were different. Perhaps it was their distance from civilization or their self-imposed exile...but both were excuses to delude him. He knew it. There has to be a reason why they hadn't heard from this town in months.

He followed them in to take part in their generosity...if it be called that.

From the stable, a young boy runs out. He looks... well more normal than the rest of them. His eyes filled with a hidden fear as he takes the reigns. "I'll take good care a ya horse, sir knight..." He says timidly, looking at the paving stones.

Then soon enough they are inside the mansion! Candles set in the wall illuminate the hallways, casting shadows at the same time that shift and swirl. The guards, thankfully, stay outside. Though the feeling of uneasiness increases if anything. As the Mayor leads them through the halls... into a large living room where chairs and couches sit around a crackling fire. The Mayor sits, gesturing to his guests. "Sit, I'll have my servants make some tea."
O Muse!
Sing in me, and through me tell the story
Of that man skilled in all the ways of contending,
A wanderer, harried for years on end...

Ginny felt a coldness spread over her body as she heard the sweet giggling, and lifted her head slightly, her eyes widening as she saw it was... being directed at her. Still clutching the woman's dress, her stomach churned as her red-hair was gently patted, and the revelation that the Princess and the Seductress were working together was such a blow that she felt as if she had been physically stuck, and nearly fell off her feet!

Her head shook from side to side in belief, her wide eyes looking up at the Princess as she leaned down over her, those breasts so close to her face. "But... but Princess, your Father called me to rid the land of... ones like her!", she gasped, her little hand pointing back at the Lady Rose. She realised she was doomed as she looked back and forth between the two women, and her fingers fell away from the Princess's dress. She blushed brightly, "My daughter... ".

James can't help but smile. After what happened, having an amicable old man to talk to was a relief.

"OKay then. Who are you?"

Ovvar attempts to pinpoint that man, from which the chanting is coming from. Creak of bone and snap of sinew is a threat, but the source is not the awakened dead. Rather it is the mage. Concentrating with all his might... that spell he was working on? A stable portal. About a half a foot in diameter, not enough to escape through. But enough for...

...the other side of the portal is hopefully behind the mage. That is why he tried to pinpoint him. That is how he hopes to reach him. Giving that dagger he unsheathed a strong flick of the wrist... he hurls it through the portal! Not knowing if it shall hit it's mark -- he falls into a defensive stance. His primary blade not designed to slay the undead. This might get ugly.

The Princess frowns a bit. "My father..." She bites her lip. "My father would turn his back on our way of life... on our ancestors on... everything!" She shakes her head. "I love him... but he is trying to destroy what Watchwood is. And I cant let that happen."

Lady Rose smiles. "Our kind is blessed to have you on our side, Princess..."

The Princess perks up. "Yes, I know." She says with a smile. Turning to Lucille. "Right, little miss. First thing is first... you cant romp around the palace in such a plain dress! I cant imagine what Rose was thinking... she is usually so good with fashion..." She taps a finger to her chin, nodding. "Yes, you will come with me. We will get you in a pretty little dress, then we will go see Caileanne!" She says with a smile, taking hold of Ginny's hand and leading her off!

Blaze wrote:James can't help but smile. After what happened, having an amicable old man to talk to was a relief.

The old man's eyes glitter a bit. "Good question, lad... and one of the few that matter." He pauses for a moment. "I am the guardian of the gates to the underworld. Ages have I stayed here... watching souls and men pass... turning away those I see as unworthy. A name of a man had I once, now I go by what I am. That is Vigilance."

The chanting is cut off with an abrupt 'Aaagh!' as the fleshy monstrosities shudder... the lights going out in their eye sockets as they tumble to the ground. In the thick black fog its rather hard to see what happened to Vilehand... but this situation is an improvement no doubt.

Ginny shook her head in disbelief as she looked up at the beautiful Princess, red curls swishing around her shoulders and down her back. "You!", she yelled, turning to point at Rose, "You've... put her under a spell!", she accused, before going bright red as she heard what the Princess said next. "Wh-What?", she asked, glancing down at her dress before gasping at the strength of the Princess' tug on her hand, and she was dragged along as fast as her little legs could keep up. "Princess, please... ", she pleaded, struggling against her, but she was far too weak for the adult Princess.

James's eyes go wide and he stares at the apple he had bitten into, his whole body trembling.

"So... is that it then? Am I dead?"

For great justice! Without a moment of hesitation, he digs his toes into the dirt... and charges into the smoke! He isn't sure if his strike slew the man outright, or just wounded him. He is not going to give a mage a chance to lay a death curse!

The Princess just giggles again, gently but firmly pulling her along.... "Oh don't you worry your little head... everything will be lovely from now on." She says, pulling her into a room! She lets go as Rose appears in the door behind her and closes it. The Princess heads to a closet and opens it to reveal many many silky lacey little dresses! The Princess just beams. "I knew my old dresses would come in handy someday..."

Blaze wrote:James's eyes go wide and he stares at the apple he had bitten into, his whole body trembling.

Vigilence smiles, raising a hand reassuringly. ''No, young man. You yet live. The city above was built for the dead... but it was built by the living. Those with reason come here to travel the twilight lands... seeking answers."

Vomica wrote:For great justice! Without a moment of hesitation, he digs his toes into the dirt... and charges into the smoke! He isn't sure if his strike slew the man outright, or just wounded him. He is not going to give a mage a chance to lay a death curse!

Ovvar charges into the mist, which disperses in his wake! Traveling to the location of the scream he finds... Vilehand! Face down in a pool of his own blood, the handle of the dagger buried deep into his back. He seems to be not moving!

And that is the scene the entire remainder of the crowd is greeted with! Ovvar standing over the still form of the... vile, Vilehand! A cheer soon breaks out in the stands!

Ginny's wide blue eyes looked up at the towering Princess, wincing at the way the woman she'd kissed only yesterday, was now talking to her like a child. As soon as her arm was released, she turned to try and run back out, only to bump right into Rose. Trapped between the two women, she let out a groan, clutching a handful of red hair as she watched the Princess open the door of the closet. "Somebody needs to stop her!", she shouted in her childish voice, before running across the room, and climbed up onto a chair below a window, her hands fumbling to try and push it open...

The man pauses at that. It's over? I did it? ...of course I did it. I'm me. Bending down, and using his foot to turn the fallen foe over. He smirks slightly. The roar of the crowd is like the light of the flame to a moth. The siren call draws his attention to it. Standing up, and turning slowly around to present himself to the audience. ...a grin creeps onto his face. He is not used to fighting for glory or honor, merely for justice and survival. But you know what? Well... I... I could get used to this. They love me, they really do.

He then wipes his blade off on the ground, getting any grim and filth off from the edge. Turning to the audience, he shouts "His crimes against man and of nature has been payed in kind!" He turns to any of the remaining bandits and thugs, "...and if you want it. You can share in his fate." He stands poised in a fencing stance, as if inviting all that remains to come to him. ...not that there are really that many left after all.

James breaths a sigh of relief and takes another bite of the apple, chewing it contemplatively.

"Well... to be honest, someone suggested I come this way. It wasn't my idea..."

The Princess is much too busy picking out little dresses to notice, but Rose does. "Lucille. Bad girl. Sit down and be good." She snaps her fingers, as Ginny feels a tingle wash through her... her arms pulling at the window go limp as she finds herself sitting down at a seat! Folding her hands in front of her.

Then the Princess turns around, a green silk with white lace trimmed dress in her hands! "Here we go! It will set off your hair quite lovely." She says with a smile.

The few bandits remaining had long ago given up or been slain by the remaining warriors. His foe, Vilehand, is turned over! The glassy look in his eyes and stillness pronouncing him deceased. The gates of the arena open, soldiers and workers with wheelbarrows begin securing the area... and cleaning up the mess. One who looks to be a guard captain walks over to him. "Good work, hero. The King wishes me to relay his invitation to come to the castle keep. He will tell you the rest of what you need to hear there."

Blaze wrote:James breaths a sigh of relief and takes another bite of the apple, chewing it contemplatively.

The old man strokes his beard, frowning a bit. "Hmmm... well what did you say to this person to have them suggest coming here? Few alive know of this place. And those that do would not direct you here lightly."

She heard Rose berate her in that mocking way, but she paid no attention to the order... until the tingle spread through her body, and the choice was taken out of her hands. Her eyes widened as she dropped her hands from the window, and climbed back down, before taking a seat and folding her arms. She stared at the Seductress, her mouth open slightly in suprise, and then looked up to see the Princess turn around with one of the little dresses she herself had worn as a child.

"There's nothing wrong with the dress I'm wearing!", she protested, still unable to believe the betrayal by the Princess, nor the fact she was having new clothes picked for her instead of saving the day.
