An 80s Kind of Castle

Don looks at it and ponders it for a long moment. He tries to touch it in order to get a feel on the age since it didn't look too old.

"Strange....It is like...." said Don as he was making note of the text.

*Indeed, the text couldn't have been more than a couple weeks old. Curious and curiouser...*

Ashley does almost slip, but he quickly gains his barrings and continues until he comes to the sight of the monster and woman fighting. Thinking, he decided that it would be... rude to interrupt for the moment, and decided to watch a little longer and see just who it was he should be helping.

*Yelling, the woman slashes at the monster with a crystal-bladed longsword; the beast misses, and the weapon instead creates a swathe of snow and ice along its trajectory. The beast growls deeply and lunges at her, but the sure-footed warrior swerves around the multiple strikes with little difficulty.*

Woman: *voice both cold and deep* You couldn't defeat me even with a century's head start, couglin. Let me go about my business, and I'll spare your existence.

Couglin: Why so slow to grasp simple concepts? You are not wanted here, harridan! *continues trying to attack the woman, its claws rending the air itself as it slashes* I... shall... eat you!

Ashley, having somehow gotten popcorn, watches this in interest. "As much as I hate to interrupt, I'm curious as to what this is about between you two."

"Well no need standing here. It is possible that the source of this is still here," said Don as he looked around and tried to see if there was any source of life here.

Warrior: *curses* Fool! Get out of here before---

*Before she can finish, the couglin decides to go after what (in its mind) is easier prey and gallops after Ashley instead!*

"Well no need standing here. It is possible that the source of this is still here," said Don as he looked around and tried to see if there was any source of life here.

*A few bats flutter out of the castle's welcome hall and fly towards the sky, spooked by something, but otherwise there is nothing else to be seen. It serves to make the castle feel somewhat dreary, its original owners long gone.*

Warrior: *curses* Fool! Get out of here before---

"Guess I made my decision..." Ashley muttered as he raised his foot and stomped onto the ice-covered ground. Instantly, ice spikes from all around shot at the creature from all sides.

"Hmm...." said Don as he reached to his right side over where his sword was. A ripple appeared and he reached into it. Don soon pulled out what looks like a flashlight and turned it on. "Let shed some light here...Oh...now that is something he would say....Drats...."

Don continues to move forward.

*The warrior watches the attack and subsequent SKEWERING! of the couglin with interest. Its agility was of help at first, but not for very long; one misstep on the ice cost it dearly.*

Warrior: *eyebrow raises into her helmet* Shish-kabob, anyone?

"Hmm...." said Don as he reached to his right side over where his sword was. A ripple appeared and he reached into it. Don soon pulled out what looks like a flashlight and turned it on. "Let shed some light here...Oh...now that is something he would say....Drats...."

Don continues to move forward.

*The decapitated skeleton and the punny graffiti in the following room may or may not get Don's attention.*

*The warrior watches the attack and subsequent SKEWERING! of the couglin with interest. Its agility was of help at first, but not for very long; one misstep on the ice cost it dearly.*

Warrior: *eyebrow raises into her helmet* Shish-kabob, anyone?

"None for me thanks, though..." Pulls out a few vials and collects the blood of the couglin. "This will do." Looks at the warrior. "So what was that all about anyway?"

"Hmm....Now this is something," said Don as he looked at the wall markings to see what they said. He then goes over to see if the skeleton had anything interesting.

"None for me thanks, though..." Pulls out a few vials and collects the blood of the couglin. "This will do." Looks at the warrior. "So what was that all about anyway?"

Warrior: *walks over and claims the gold the couglin was carrying for herself* I was wandering the castle and picking up treasure. This thing decided it didn't like me. Simple, really... so, who are you?

"Hmm....Now this is something," said Don as he looked at the wall markings to see what they said. He then goes over to see if the skeleton had anything interesting.

*The graffiti reads: "I ain't got no body to love". The skeleton has an empty holster for a sword, and strangely the bones are concealing---of all things---a pair of eyeglasses.*

Warrior: *walks over and claims the gold the couglin was carrying for herself* I was wandering the castle and picking up treasure. This thing decided it didn't like me. Simple, really... so, who are you?

"It seemed a bit temperamental." He responded, finishing what he was doing. "I'm Ashley Carol Hampton Ferguson, vampire of 1549-years-old. You?"

"Eyeglasses. I guess that he should have used this if he didn't want to die," said Don as he took them off the dead body.

"It seemed a bit temperamental." He responded, finishing what he was doing. "I'm Ashley Carol Hampton Ferguson, vampire of 1549-years-old. You?"

Warrior: Lisa Coldsmith, ice elementalist of... *thinks* ...early twenties, I think. I haven't been keeping track. *idly examines her weapon* So, I assume you didn't come here just to shoot the breeze?

"Eyeglasses. I guess that he should have used this if he didn't want to die," said Don as he took them off the dead body.

*Undoubtedly so. Aside from these things, though, the room doesn't hold much else of interest. The next room, with its spiral staircase and four archways, is visible from Don's position; from there, though, it's hard to tell where they all lead.*

"The castle seemed to appear out of nowhere and I was curious." He answered. "So I decided to check it out."

"NOw what is this?" said DOn as he still held on to the the glasses. He walked a bit more into the next room and saw that there were many ways to go. He looked at the staircase and figured that he would like to get a better look of the area. Don soon began to make his way up the stairs.
