An Invitation to Dinner

Major Durant nods. "Red wine does sound quite nice..." she says, ordering some. Once the food and drinks are ordered, she crosses her arms on the table. "So... I'm sure you're wondering just why I requested your company this evening."

[Feng]

"I have my hypothesis" says Bones with a grin as a Chibi waiter approaches the two.

"Welcome to Burnt Toast's! Can I get you anything to drink to start off with? Perhaps an appetizer as well?"

The major glances at the chibi waiter. "A red wine, please... and some stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, please." She turns back to Lord Bones. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your hypothesis?"

*Ambush Cat is silent for a few moments, then shrugs and dismisses whatever it is.*

"I have my hypothesis" says Bones with a grin as a Chibi waiter approaches the two.

"Welcome to Burnt Toast's! Can I get you anything to drink to start off with? Perhaps an appetizer as well?"

Shrimp gumbo and a bowl of fruit punch, please.

The major glances at the chibi waiter. "A red wine, please... and some stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, please." She turns back to Lord Bones. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your hypothesis?"

An educated guess, probably. >^_^<

*Ambush Cat pauses in his sauntering, thinks for a bit, and turns back around.*

Sure. Why not? *climbs onto another chair*

Elly sits down opposite Ambush, ordering her own food and drink. "You seem to be in witty form, as usual, Mr. Ambush," she comments.

Bones grins as the waiter leaves to get everyone's order.

"You're here to gain information, my dear Major. Information about my organization, no?"

"That's not a particularly bad guess, Lord Bones... and in most cases, you'd be correct. However, it's not quite what we're looking for. You see, what I -- and my superiors -- are particularly interested in learning about is you," the major explains.

[Feng]

"What do you mean?" asks Bones, raising an eyebrow, watching as the waiter returns with everyone's drinks. "Doesn't your intelligence agency have enough data on me?"

"Data only goes so far," Major Durant points out. "While we may know, for example, that you have the enigmatic title of 'Queen of the Underworld', and could possibly even find out how that occurred... it doesn't tell us anything about you. So what I'd like to find out, over the course of our dinner... is what sort of person you are. Your beliefs, your personal philosophies... what sort of person the most notorious criminal mastermind in Muffinville is."

"What do you mean?" asks Bones, raising an eyebrow, watching as the waiter returns with everyone's drinks. "Doesn't your intelligence agency have enough data on me?"

Bones pales when the major mentions the Queen of the Underworld bit.

"H-How did you find out about that?!" O___o he stammers, before managing to return his cool demeanor. "I mean, how odd that you were able to come across such information. I thought knowledge concerning the existence of that particular sect was limited to those who frequent the shadows of the Chibi district."

Bones takes a sip of his wine.

"Lets just say that title is the result of a crazy misadventure and leave it at that. The question is though, what do you want me to discuss first? Of course, in exchange, I'd like to get to know some more about your organization. While I seem to have learned something about the CTC, there is still much mystery that surrounds the organization that puzzles me..."


He turns to Ambush.

"Let me give you this advice, never enter a Chaijin Day of the Dead festival drunk." O___o

Bones pales when the major mentions the Queen of the Underworld bit.

Major Durant smiles slightly at Bones' reaction to her statement. "For now, I'll just say that the CTC have access to certain exceptional information-gathering methods," she says. "At some point, we could discuss more details... but I will say that those details can be uncomfortable for some individuals to deal with. As to your suggestion, I have no problems with answering your questions as best I can, although I hope you'll understand that certain things may need to remain classified. I'm sure there are things you would rather keep secret for the time being, yourself."

"As for your question... hmm. How about we start by discussing your motivations? What motivates you, and what ambitions do you have? Why did you choose to become a criminal mastermind?"

"But of course" says Bones with a grin. "Information is a valuable commodity. It is understandable that one would want to guard their most cherished secrets jealously."

He tugs at his thin mustache.

"As for your first question, I was inspired to enter the career of super villainy by witnessing the works of masterminds who came before me. I watched the works of entities such as Smash Daisaku, Azer, and even Rowan as they unleashed terror and pandemonium across the city. The chaos, the pandemonium, the excitement! It was beautiful to to behold~!"

The waiter comes with a bowl of shrimp gumbo for Ambush.

"However, while I consider these men to be source of my inspiration, the real motivation behind many of my schemes has been the simple thirst for vengeance. I'll let you in on a secret, Major. While I do enjoy the chaos and pandemonium I bring to the city, the real reason I commit such acts of atrocity is to lure a certain force out from the shadows, a certain group of people who have been responsible for causing me untold grief by their actions..."

He turns to Ambush.

"Let me give you this advice, never enter a Chaijin Day of the Dead festival drunk." O___o

That won't be a problem; I've sworn off alcohol. *sniggers*

*Ambush nods in thanks to the waiter, then turns from the fruit punch to the gumbo and starts working through it.*

"An interesting choice of role models," Major Durant says, smiling a moment before her expression turns serious again. "Would you mind telling me about this group? I understand if you'd rather such information be secret, but a group that has caused you such trouble would be worth getting information on."
