The guy from the Popular Austrailia band "Men At Work" who had the flute solo in "Down Under" has passed away. Men at Work was recently sued by the family of the person who created the popular children's camp song "The Kookoburo in the Old Gum Tree" for stealing their riffs.

George Lyndsey, who portrayed Goober Pyle, Gomer Pyle's cousin on the Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry RFD, has passed away at the age of 83. He took over when Jim Nabors, who played Gomer Pyle, left the Andy Griffith Show to join the Marines, in the hit show, Gomer Pyle, USMC. Goober always greeted Andy and the other characters with a friendly wave and a "Hello."

Maurice Sendak, author of the famous childrens book "Where the Wild Things Are", has passed away at the age of 83. Man, 2012 is almost half way through, and we lost some decent celebrities. Also, The actor who played the original Barnaby Jones from the tv show Dark Shadows died. They are having a remake of Dark Shadows (the movie) with Johnny Depp as Barnaby the vampire.

Racing legend and car designer, Carroll Shelby, dead May 11,2012. Most noted for putting American v-8 motors in the AC Bristol British convertable, Shelby's little Colbra set a standard for many years. He went onto build several other factory fast cars from the mustang, both in the late 60's, early 70's, and the newest model from 2005 up. But also had serious development in Oldsmobiles race program, and both the dodge Omni GLHS and the Viper V-10 prototyping. (The little known fact that GLHS was the acronym for goes like he double hockey sticks ) and as a side note to his making of hot cars, being a Texan, he also created a famous hot chili as well...
