An Offer they Can't Refuse

Will blinked and looked down at his plate before taking another bite, this time with less dressing. "This tastes a lot better than I thought it would." He supposed it was safe to eat, since Melissa had gotten her food from the same salad bar. He took a sip from his smoothie as well.

Hannah wiped her mouth with a napkin. Her plate was already clear. "Good to hear. Nutrient dense foods like these should be the staple of your diet." She started into her bowl of fruit. Each bite she took made her pause while her eyes fluttered and made a small yummy sound.

Steve stares a little more. "Hannah... you seem to... err... really like this stuff."

Melissa nods, smiling a little as she continues munching her salad quietly. Meanwhile, Will's second bite tastes better than the first! The lettuce was so crisp and fresh and tasty! Not to mention the nearly liquid rapture that is the smoothie as he sips it down. It just tastes... perfect.

"Oh wow." Will slurps down more of the smoothie. "I never thought I'd say this, but this salad tastes great." He moved things around on his plate, ignoring the egg whites and chicken to get a forkful of lettuce, carrot slices, cucumber, and beets. He even shook some of the dressing off before taking a bite. "And zhe shmoovies are delishus!" He tried as best he could to talk around his green stuff.

Hannah looked up from her bowl and blushed. "Oh, sorry. I just... I really enjoy the mix in flavors. It's strange. I don't even miss brownies or ice cream. Not when something so simple," she said, taking another euphoric bite, "Tastes so good!"

"Errr... I'm glad you like it then?" Says Steve, chuckling slightly. He looks down, getting back to eating his salad.

Melissa giggles as Will seeks out veggies to consume! "Still missing that cheezeburger?" She asks, as Will finds a taste explosion in his mouth! All of the veggies are to crisp, fresh, and tasty! Its... amazing!

"What cheeseburger?" Will munched on in disbelief. Healthy food had never tasted so good to him before. Wherever these people got their produce, he had to find out. "I almost can't decide what my favorite is." He took another gulp from his smoothie and grinned at the sweet, perfect blend. "Oh wait, there it is."

Hannah gave Steve a smirk and continued with her bowl. Meanwhile, Steve's plate really did seem to have everything. Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, baby corn, peas... if it was a vegetable, it was there. Even the cauliflower and brussel sprouts tasted fresh and better than ever.

Steve eats until he is full... starting with his favorite vegetables then moving on to the less favorite ones... not that it mattered much... they all tasted so delicious. Once he has his full he leans back, sipping the smoothie.

Melissa giggles again. "Mine too..." She says... sipping her smoothie and closing her eyes... shivering slightly... obviously enraptured with the taste. It seems no matter how much Will was enjoying his food, Melissa liked hers even more...

Will focused on the smoothie. Perhaps it was because it genuinely tasted better, perhaps it was because he expected it to taste better. He never had been one for too much experimentation, food wise. "Looks like you're really getting into that smoothie. What kind did you get?"

Hannah wiped her mouth again and let out a satisfied little sigh. "Let me know when you're finished, and I'll escort you to the spa." She frowned for a little bit, then let out a juicy burp. She blushed beet red and covered her mouth. "Excuse me. I guess I ate a little too fast. Sometimes, I just can't help myself."

The smoothie was just as good as when Steve first tried it. The flavors mixed together in a burst of flavor that seemed to dance on his tongue.

Steve snickers a little as Hannah burps. "Don't worry... and I'm fine to get going now. I can finish this on the way." He says, nodding to the smoothie.

Melissa blinks. "O-Oh! Um... I got a kiwi rasberry one. Its... just amazing..." She says with a embarrassed smile, her cheeks blushed.

"I'll have to try one of those next time then, if it's that good." He finished off his smoothie and went back to his salad. Thanks to the mango in the smoothie and the protein on the salad, he was finally starting to feel full.

Hannah nodded and slid out of the booth. She smoothed out her skirt when she stood up, then waited for Steve. "Don't worry about the plates, someone will come by and clean them up.

Steve nods, getting up and stretching a bit! "Alright, lets get going." He says, taking a sip of his smoothie.

Melissa smiles a bit. "It isn't all bad here... what they have you do is nice and relaxing... And the food is good, hehe."

"Just like the company." Will returned the smile, happy to see she was swallowing back her fears and worries. While it didn't fix any of the problems he knew were lurking around the corner, it comforted him to keep her mind off of them for a bit.

"Of course." Hannah walked out a pair of glass doors to the outside, and started walking down the boardwalk. Once again Steve could see pairs of women walking to and fro. For the most part, they appeared as they did before. One pair stood out though. One of the girls was very plain, with shoulder length hair and a boyish figure. She was in tears. Her partner, a lovely creature with long green hair and just enough curves, was hugging her close as she walked the girl to their destination.

Steve looks around the island... his gaze stopping on the strange pair. He pauses... "What do you think that is about?" He asks Hannah... nodding to the two girls.

Melissa nods, blushing again. She finishes up her meal, wiping her mouth daintily. "Thanks... I hope you have a good time..." She says, looking into his eyes. "I'll do whatever I can to make this easier for you..." She says, earnestly.

Will nodded. It seemed like the trust was back, the fear forgotten for the moment. "I'll try, everything considered. You definitely aren't painting this place a pretty picture for me though." He tilted his head while looking Melissa in those bright eyes of hers. "If it's as terrible as you're making it seem, how can you smile like that? There must be something to make it better, right?"

"Hmm?" Hannah caught a glimpse of the crying girl and her beautiful escort. "Oh, that." She bit her lip and continued walking as she glanced back at him. "As long as we follow our schedules here, the Family won't harm us. But like I said, these are bad people. They take pleasure in letting us know they're in complete control." She gave him a sad look, then turned to go forward again. "I can't protect you against that. All I can do is prepare you, so it hurts less."

Steve pauses at that. "What do you mean prepare me? Prepare me for what?" He asks as they walk...

Melissa trails her finger across the table... "Its... hard to explain. This place is what it looks like, but... it isn't." She waves her arms, trying to find the right words. "There is nothing wrong with any of the things they have you do... all of the facilities are top notch as far as I can tell. I've never been pampered so much in my life.." She blushes a bit. "And its nice... its just... like... you know these mob guys have some kind of plan for all of us. And there isn't anything you can do to stop it. If you want to keep safe, anyway. Just... I don't know. There is plenty to enjoy here. If you act like a dumb tourist and follow their schedule to the letter it will be one of the greatest vacations ever. Just... I don't know. Try to relax and don't think about it. I did... it didn't help."

"I've never been a dumb tourist." Will sighed. "I think I'm done with lunch. All this talk is killing my appetite." He stood up and started gathering his plate and cup to put them away properly. "I hope things aren't going to be as rough as you say they will be. But if they are, I'm glad to have you here to help smooth things a bit."

"You'll see soon enough. All I can say is the Family has a plan for all of us here, and you won't like how they fit you into it. If I go into any more detail, they'll kill us both." Hannah kept her voice level as she spoke, and kept her face forward as she walked. Soon they arrived at a building with an art deco style resembling a nautilus shell. "And here we are at the spa."
