Anthem City: Fall of the Possum

[Blaze]

"Hmm... mathematics if I recall correctly. We're in the same stream so just stick with me." Dana says with a smile as she copies the recipe in her fancy curly writing.

[Harri-chan]

"Oh... ", said Georgia with a slight frown. That sounded far more boring than baking, and she was reminded that she was back in school, and the point wasn't to be having fun. She wondered what Amanda would be up to, her brown eyes gazing out of the window, chewing the end of her pen. "What kind of jobs do your parents have?", she asked, seemingly out of the blue.

[Blaze]

"My father is the CEO of Charlemange Company. My mom is a prosecuting lawyer." Dana says bluntly, her voice sounding a bit terse.

[Harri-chan]

"Impressive... ", murmured Georgia, although now she couldn't help but wonder if Dana's Mother had worked at the same firm she'd been a secretary at for the past five years. She blushed at the thought as she finished up writing down the recipe. "Got any brothers or sisters? I have a cousin. Suzie. She's... a couple of grades higher than us".

[Blaze]

Dana shakes her head, suddenly very intent on her notes.

"Nope. Just me."

[Harri-chan]

Georgia noticed that Dana didn't seem too talkative about the subject, so fell silent herself for a moment, chewing her bottom lip. She studied the other girl, and tried to think like a cheerleader. "Soo... got a boyfriend?", she asked, cringing on the inside at how un-Georgia like such a question was.

[Blaze]

Dana perks up a bit as Georgia changes the subject.

"Mmm... not really. In a place like this, it's hard to tell if a guy likes me for me, or because my dad is a big businessman and they want to start setting up connections while in school, y'know?"

[Harri-chan]

Georgia was horrified that guys even this young would do that, and she gave Dana a sympathetic look. "Maybe we need to go some place where they don't know about your Dad then", she found herself suggesting.

[Blaze]

Dana thinks for a moment, her pen stopping.

"Hm... that could be fun..."

[Harri-chan]

Georgia broke into a grin, excitement rushing through her as she saw it was working. "Well... what kind of boys do you like? Once we know that, we'll know the best place to go", she said with a nod. Despite never having a boyfriend herself, here she was giving advice to what was probably one of the most popular girls in their year group.

[Blaze]

"Hmm... you know, I'm not sure." Dana admits with a slight blush.

"Never really thought about it I guess."

[Harri-chan]

"Well, there's no rush, so you take your time", she said, patting Dana lightly on the shoulder. "You're so pretty, I bet you could have any boy you wanted".

[Blaze]

Dana gives a smile, her cheeks going rosy.

"Aww, sweet of you to say." she says as she finishes copying the recipe.

"Ah, they should be done now!"

[Harri-chan]

Setting down her own pen, Georgia steps back with an excited grin and bends down, peering through the glass front of the oven. "Do we have any of those oven mitts?", she asked, looking back up at Dana.

[Blaze]

"Nope! This is the most hardcore Home Ec class in history! You can only pass if you take out hot trays with your bare hands-of course we do you twit." Dana says with a giggle, pointing to a cupboard by the aprons.
