Well..can't say I didn't expect otherwise but this is gonna be a hard pill for the AI to swallow. I run another scan for any sort of advanced tech in the lab to check for ANY kind of anomalies..who knows, maybe one or more of the scientists managed to put themselves into some kind of stasis? I know it's a long shot but might as well check.
Her scans turn up nothing of interest. Apparently the scientists were working on some kind of supervirus that got out, and they put the lab on emergency lockdown to keep it from getting out. The lockdown is run from a computer totally separate from the AI, just in case they needed to do it if she went rogue.
On the one hand, they died to keep the virus from getting out..but on the other hand why were they working on something like that in the first place? Hopefully whatever that virus was has died by now, in fact I attempt to do a quick scan on that before starting up a camera app to record what I'm finding.
"..I'm sorry to be the one to tell you...are.." I hesitate in asking if the AI is going to be alright..if it were a human it's obvious they wouldn't but it's a little harder to tell with AI? After a moment I go through with the question. "Are you going to be alright..?"
"Well..do you mind if I just upload the information directly? I'm not exactly the best at explaining this sort of stuff by mouth." I shift a little awkwardly, hoping the AI accepts that suggestion.
"He might yeah..if nothing else you'd have the freedom to explore other possibilities without having to be down here all the time." I respond with a hopeful tone.
The AI thinks for a while on that. Of course, since both present are technological beings was vast amounts of processing power, a 'while' for them would be 5 seconds to a normal person.
