Thanks lady... Much appreciated.

"Yes yes, welcome deary. Now let me get back to my real customers. Unsuspecting people who think magic is fake." the old lady mutters, taking the cash.

Are Daniel's ears deceiving him? He's buttering up this librarian type? Why, he... he could be prettier than that! Mal's charm is wasted on her!

The woman looks up at Mal, cheeks going a bit pink. "Ah, I see... name of the ship?" she asks, opening a thick book.

Daniel curls his hands into fists, scowling at the woman. If Mal was into bookish girls, he could be twice as bookish... wait, what is he saying?! Thinking?!

*Mendo smirks.*
Fair enough lady. Good luck with your sales...
*Glancing around, he sneaks into a side alley and puts the pendant on... flipping it to where the pink is exposed*

"The Gallows Humor, please. Thank you, by the way. No matter what you find in that book, it's simply a pleasure to talk to you." He continues to lean on the counter, and watches the bookish woman with a smile and a twinkle in his eye.

Daniel is only thinking that this woman is getting the kind of attention from Mal that he rightly deserves. After all, isn't he being the bigger help? Why can't he get those compliments, those flirtatious looks?

As soon as the pink half is facing up, Mendo feels a tingle move through his body. His chassis begins to reform, starting at the head. His hair shifts it's style, being pinned up on the side with a rabbit-shaped hair ornament, hair hanging over his left eye. His face begins to shift, becoming less angular, more rounded, literal blush stickers forming on his cheeks, his eyebrows becoming femininely shaped, his visible eye becoming purple and bigger.

The girl gives a small blush and turns to a bookmarked page in the big book.

"You're not the first one to ask, and I doubt you'll be the last. I'll tell you what I told everyone. Because of a huge storm, no one was able to calculate where the Gallows Humor went down. By the time the crew got their bearings, they had been blown far away from where they sunk it.

Daniel wrings his hands together, sweating a bit. He supposes that Mal doesn't swing that way either...

"Ah... But why would you tell me something you've told everyone? Surely there must be something that those intelligent eyes of yours are hiding from the common layabouts." Mal continues to lean on the desk... even going so far as to lean forward a bit. He looks at the woman... and the book.

Daniel supposes that no, Mal doesn't swing that way. But... maybe there's another way he could take his rightful place in Mal's eyes?

The changes move south, making his neck swanlike, altering his vocal program to make his voice a soft, demure feminine one. His shoulders become more rounded, his arms slim with longer nails on dainty fingers. His chest begins to bulge into a pair of handsome breasts, high C-cup, hidden under that bulky vest. His waist slims down as his hips and rear expand... rather dramatically! Mendo has true childbearing hips now! His groin inverts... leaving Mendo looking like a real woman!

The woman blushes and squirms in her seat, averting her gaze from Mal.

"W-Well... no, I shouldn't! It'll just be sending you on a wild chase for nothing!"

Daniel gulps. Sure, Mal was nice... and handsome... but was he really willing to throw away everything he was just for that? Was he that shallow?

Mal smoothly looks down to the name plaque on her desk. "Ah, but you must understand, Flo. It's not so much the end of the journey." He reaches across, takes her hand and kisses the back. "It's the journey itself, the unexpected adventure... the interesting people met on the way." He waggles his eyebrows at her.

Is Daniel's manhood really all he is? Would it be that much of a sacrifice to switch places with the woman at the desk?

*Mendo's cheeks turn bright red as she switches teams, pulling at her vest.*
Great, it works!... Let's just hope it's as effective on the return trip.

The woman stammers for a moment, before giving a small.

"Well, I did notice some inconsistencies with this story... I could share them with you."

Daniel gives a resolute nod and taps Mal on the shoulder

It seems that the trinket is not yet done, warping Mendo's clothes to better suit her new form! A modified kimono/ light blue with red leaves as the pattern with detached sleeves, exposing some generous sideboob, a teal sash around her waist with a curious loincloth that goes around her lower legs, covering her front and back. It exposes her hips and upper thighs, revealing she now has a tattoo of scattering red and pink leaves on her left hip! Black stocking son her legs with light blue tabi and fingerless gloves that go around her middle finger on her arms. THe pendant is concealed by a high dark blue collar. Mendo now looks like this!

"I would be most appreciative if you would." He glances back at Daniel. No winks, no flirtatious comments... just a smile. "Yes, friend?"

*The newly formed female Mendo sighs as she looks her form over, brushing her new outfit a bit.*
Alright... Now... To catch up with Mal so I can look him in the eye and dispel this weirdness...
*She smiles at the thought, walking back towards the building where they had been heading too*

The woman walks into the back of the office. Daniel's heart aches a bit as he receives just a friendly smile, not one of the looks he gave woman.

"Er... look mate, I just remembered that I don't have time off, got a minor voyage to make for a friend, so I can't come along... but if you need an extra pair of hands, I could get my... cousin to meet up with you. She always wanted to go on an adventure..."

Mal seems a bit disappointed, but shakes the sailor's hand. "Well, if you must. I will be honored to take your kin on an adventure. Of course, I'll try to be nothing but a gentleman towards her." He gives Daniel a smile, then looks over his shoulder at the new arrival.

"Hello. Are you here for some information, miss? I dare say, your clothing is already very smart, no doubt to match you." He gives Mendo a smile... a heartwarming, kneemelting smile. Oh no! The weirdness is only getting weirder!

*The girl glances behind her to see if there was anyone else Mal could be talking too... and then turns back to him with a slight red tint on her cheeks*
Oh... Er... I'm really not that smart, trust me...
*What was going on? She had just done this so that these strange feelings could go away... and yet they persisted!*
I'm... I'm just here because I heard about an adventure?
*Oh crap... was that the right thing to say?*
