Daniel catches her reflection in the window and beams, giving a quick pose.

"I hope Mal likes me..." she mutters, entering the records office!

Mal stands in the office, still leaning on the counter and awaiting more information from the blushing clerk. His eyes wander from the beautiful Mendo to glance at Daniel... and the new girl can see a sparkle in his eye that seems to be just for her. "Well hello there, my good lady. If you need to talk to the clerk, don't worry. I shouldn't be long. After all, I'd be remiss if I didn't introduce myself to such a fine specimen as yourself."

Daniel flushes when she looks at Mal, seeing the twinkle he never had for him when he was a man. Approaching, she rubs her right arm demurely as she speaks.

"H-Hi... I'm Daniel's cousin... name's Sylvie. Are you Mal?"

Meanwhile, the clerk emerges from the back, having been checking up on some stuff.

"Sorry sir, the captain died a few years back, but his son is still around. Apparently he frequents 'The Rusty Claw,' a bar on the bad part of the port."

"Yes I am. It's a great pleasure to meet you, Sylvie. Your cousin is a good man, no doubt he gets it from you." Mal reaches out to shake her hand. "I wouldn't want to put you into a bad situation, but apparently the bar our next lead frequents isn't in the most savory of locations." He looks happily from Silvie to Mendo, pleased as punch to be surrounded by such loveliness.

Sylvie glances at the busty kunoichi, a slight frown on her face before giving Mal a confident grin.

"I can handle myself."

"Splendid! Well, we have our lead. I suggest we go follow it." Mal pulls his arm in after extending it to Sylvie. Rather than seem let down by her not shaking his hand, he instead offers her his arm. "I must say, a mystery and an angelic face or two... I knew today would be a good day." He gives Sylvie a wink.

Sylvie's cheeks go bright red as she rubs her upper arm, averting her eyes.

"S-Sweet of you..."

Mal grins and puts a hand on Sylvie's shoulder. "It's not sweet if it's the truth, my dear." He looks over his shoulder at the lady behind the desk. "Thank you for the help, Fern. You've been fantastic." And with that, he escorts Sylvia and the busty Mendo out of the office... and towards the rougher part of town!

*Blinks... shocked at the addition of another female to the party... But quickly follows!*

(That is, assuming you're still up for this. Sorry. I got distracted from posting to the boards for a bit. @__@)

Sylvie blushes as she is so easily lead from the building. It wasn't so long ago that he would be the one doing the leading... no. That part of her life was over. She walks with Mal as they approach the Rusty Claw, a tavern that looks even shadier than the one they were in before! The wood is falling apart, damaged by the salt from the sea and bawdy songs can be head coming from inside.

Mal keeps Sylvie on one side of him, and Mendo on the other. "Now, before we go in, you should know that these kinds of places can get somewhat dangerous. I wouldn't want to put either of you into unnecessary risk." He turns to Mendo and pats her shoulder. "Maybe you should stay near the door in case trouble breaks out... um... I apologize. What was your name again?"

He turns to Sylvie and gives her a conspiratorial smile. "Don't go breaking any hearts or faces if you can help it." Already trusting her to handle herself, not being treated like some wilting flower... it makes her decision to follow him feel all the more right.

I-I can handle myself too!
*She blurts out, not wanting to be shown up too much by this... Sylvie girl. Blushing at her lack of composure she looks away for a second*
Oh... A-and my name? *Shoot! She hadn't thought about that... Quickly, she spits out the first thing that comes to mind.* M... Melody. That'd be it.

Sylvie beams happily and gives a nod!

"Right, I'll follow your lead Mister Mal." she says. She was a bit worried that he would treat her like an inferior, but here we are. Equals. It felt so... right.

"All right, Melody. You can come with us, but stay close. The people inside might get the wrong ideas about you from your clothing." Mal stares down the door to the bar and cracks his knuckles. "They might not appreciate that some beauty is meant to be seen, not touched." He walks forward, motioning them to follow. "Let's go find us some adventure!" His eyes glimmer with excitement and mischief as he casually walks through the door.

*Melody... er... Mendo blushes as she follows close behind, now paying much closer attention to her surroundings... But it was nice to see that Mal was ready to fight for her if need be. She could defend herself, but that must mean that he liked her! T-that was a good thing, right?*
Adventure it is... Let's go.
