Callista: *murmurs in her sleep* Cape-obsessed wine taster...

Huh... *Circe watches the waitress for a moment, then turns back to her food and starts eating.*

*Waitress #73 returns a minute later, pushing a food-laden cart in front of her and looking entirely unsure about this; the dishes range from simple sandwiches to marvellous casseroles. Before she can so much as announce "Food's here", a cream-and-gray blur swipes some of the food and devours it at a rate Garfield would be proud of. Cue shocked looks from the waitress and Mini-Lina, a knowing chuckle from the pianist, and another cackle from the caped server; they know how Calli did it, after all.*

...What just happened?

[AmbushCat]

*The waitress starts to answer, but on finishing the last bit of food, Callista stops and raises one hand to her throat. She coughs violently for a few seconds, finally spitting out an empty casserole pan onto the tray.*

Callista: *coughs* Wow. I'm really out of practice.

[Ookalf]

...Wow. Did you even taste any of that, or did it all just go straight down?

[AmbushCat]

Callista: ...Yeah, I did, but it takes a little bit for the taste buds to catch up to my stomach.

[Ookalf]

*Circe shakes her head.* I swear, you are absolutely ridiculous sometimes...

[AmbushCat]

Callista: *cue shimmering eyes and background sparkles* Why, that's the sweetest thing you've said to me ever! I didn't know you cared!

*In the background, Mini-Lina pantomimes projectile vomiting.*

[Ookalf]

It wasn't a compliment, Callista.

[AmbushCat]

Callista: But that doesn't make it any less true!

*The waitress recovers enough to wheel the tray away, hands shaking.*

[Ookalf]

... *Circe sighs and shake her head.* What can I even say to that? I mean, really.

[AmbushCat]

Callista: Well, you could probably curse Himitsu's name. That's an idea.

[Ookalf]

...I fail to see the relevance.

[AmbushCat]
