Ellen: ...Having gone from watching someone defeat a dragon by creating a lake ...to seeing that same someone cower like a frightened puppy in the face of an angry mother... yes, I am.

Cynth: Hee... Amber was furious, huh?

Ellen: ...Well, knowing what someone is capable of is different from actually seeing it done. I wasn't prepared for the shock.

Ellen: *nod* ...Mm. ...At any rate, Acutus is still alive ...at the bottom of the lake, severely damaged and unable to move. Most of the Blue was blasted out of her (along with the majority of her scales), though from what Callista told me she retains just enough to keep her form. *crumples the paper figurine*

...Everyone else got off lightly, though the summoner was hit with a TF blast on her way back to Muffinville. Don't know where she is now, and I don't care.

*Circe nods.* I see. I wonder if I'll run into them at some point...

Cynth: *flatly* What.

Ellen: ...No, Cynth. I refuse to say more than that about her.

Ellen: ...I refuse to talk about her. The less said, the better. *gives Circe a look that would qualify as "pleading" were she more emotional* ...Please don't force me.

Ellen: ...In a moment. *softly calls out* ...Echo? Go ahead.

*Ellen's four-legged brother climbs out of the shadow of Cynth's cage, earning a surprised squeak from the mouse. He drops a small, plastic, thin-handled case on the countertop, meows once in greeting, then disappears the way he came.*

...I probably shouldn't let people warp in and out like that... *Circe shakes her head, then checks the case.* So, what's in here?

*Inside the case are two square-shaped slices of lemon cake with chocolate frosting, wrapped in plastic and well-chilled. Enclosed are several napkins and a few plastic forks and knives.*

Ellen: ...I turned eight recently, and a few kids in my 3rd-hour English class were brave enough to try throwing an in-class party for me. ...Looking back, I should've told them about my chocolate allergy sooner.
