"Ah, well then.." D shifts back to Callista's form, and gives her near-twin a salute. "Best of luck!"

*Callista smiles as she retrieves her footwear. Tiny fangs poke past her lip as she returns D's salute.*

Thanks. Ciao mein, D. And call me Calli. *rolls out of the ring and exits the room*

*After Callista leaves, she looks upon the last two rooms indecisively. Sighing, she finally takes a nickel out of a pocket and flips it, watching as it lands heads-up in her palm. Nodding, she makes a beeline for Ring #3.*

Callista walks in to some audible snoring. A rather overweight guy in loose, cream-colored clothes is lying on his back on the ring floor, sleeping just as easily as if it were a comfy bed. He has dark blue hair and little vaguely, but not exactly, cat-like ears in the same color fur as the only visible hint that he isn't just a normal human.

*deadpan* ...Well, I can already tell I'm doomed. How am I gonna wake this guy up?

Hmmm... I don't exactly have a Poké Flute on me... *gleeful smile* Guess I'll go with the next best thing.

*Callista climbs into the ring, takes a deep breath, and starts singing to the tune of George Michael's "Careless Whisper". Loudly, having little sense of the melody, and powerful enough to be heard outside the building.*

Very near the end of Callista's chorus, the guy makes some sounds like "Mmngh?!" and slowly sits up, blinking. "Oh, uh. Didn't you see the note?" he looks around for something and eventually turns around to find that what he's referring to had been underneath him: A small piece of posterboard with Please say "hello governfish" and then watch my hands written on it. "Ugh..nevermind." Still sitting up, he tosses the note at a wall, which it hits with enough force to shatter into five or six tiny pieces of posterboard, and then turns back to Callista. "I, uh, guess you're here for the trial fight thing or whatever?"

Yeah. *sweatdrops* Um... sorry about the noise. I didn't really have a "safe" way of waking you up, and I didn't think doing it the normal way would've produced results. *looks off to the side, blushing in embarrassment*

The big guy nods. "Yeah, I mean, it's no big deal, I'm supposed to be working anyway. But I had a big idea where I'd show off my whole gimmick thing and meet whoever came in first without havin' to wake up. It'd be really cool and stuff. Uh...well, anyway, my name's Dave." He offers a hand to shake. "I'm related to Snorlaxes and stuff."

*accepts the handshake* Kinda figured. Name's Callista, but I answer to "Calli" too.

Dave nods. "Nice to meet ya, Calli. Well, I don't wanna waste your time or anything. Uh..I guess I could use Rest and then you can do whatever if you wanna just go ahead and start." It seems suspiciously like he's just eager to go back to sleep, but oh well.

...You're weird, but I guess I've no room to talk. If that's what you wanna do, who am I to argue?

"Yeah, sorry...I've been told I'm a little, socially awkward and stuff," says Dave. He yawns and closes his eyes, and starts quietly snoring again, still standing up.

*Shrugging, Callista backs up some and points one hand towards the ceiling, concentrating on boosting her defense overall. Sparkles akin to starlight float around her for a few seconds, then disperse.*

Dave snores really loudly, loudly enough that it becomes painful to hear and sends a few shockwaves through the air in random directions, though one of those directions does happen to be roughly where Callista is.

((OOC: Got a quick question. Will you be wanting me to send you a copy of Callista's complete movelist at some point, in light of her earlier fight with D?))

Gaah! *slams her paws over her ears, grimacing* And people think I'm a noisy sleeper---blast it I can still hear it!

*Callista tries to shut out all distractions, but Dave's Snoring makes that next to impossible. She does manage to alleviate some of her irritation in the midst of it, providing a certain degree of calm.*
