"Nothing huge. Like, something to cast a small illusion so it looks like..." Whyte pauses. "Well, do you remember my scar when I first got here?" She traces a finger across the area it used to be in, running diagonally right across her left eye. "It sounds...stupid, but I kinda miss it. Like--not it being the first part of me to hurt any time I take a hit, or being sore every time the weather changed a tiny bit, but...it still feels weird, looking at my face in the mirror and not seeing it."

Whyte nods. "I'm just worried people will think I did it to 'look cool' or something. That's not...it's more that it always meant something to me. I got that scar defending my first 'real' trainer, the first person I actually wanted to stay with and didn't run away from as soon as I could. That guy finally made me understand what I--what the whole society of my original world was doing wrong."

Swift: Sounds like he was a really swell guy.

The Eevee-girl gives a bit of a nostalgic sigh. "Yeah. We went on to make him champion and then started the work of setting things right. Just seeing someone who actually cared about their team winning against someone at the peak of the old way of thinking changed a lot of minds. He released me after a decade together--by then I'd managed to explain the whole curse situation to him, and I wanted to go looking for a way to fix it. Instead I managed to wander into a portal to another world. Not this one--I've been to a lot of worlds since then. But it's not really about him, even, it's just that it reminds me of what I learned back then. You know?"

Swift: *smiles* I'll have to see sometime if Amber's willing to do some more universe-hopping and try to track him down. If he played a major role in making you what you are now, then I'm tempted to tell him 'thanks'.

Whyte actually blushes at this. "Awwh. I wanna hug you but I don't know if you'd be okay with that or not."

With permission, the eevee-girl goes in for a hug, leaning over and gently wrapping her arms around Swift. "Heheh...okay, I've actually wanted to do this for a while but I'm..still getting used to human social cues, you know?"

Swift: *leans into the hug agreeably* Heh... you and me both. Makes me a bit jealous of Vacuum and Shiver, really... neither of them are fond of humans, and even they understand their social norms better than I do.

"Well, let's agree to just tell each other if we're doing something wrong, huh?" Whyte cautiously goes to rub Swift's head a bit.

Swift: *closes her eyes* I don't mind if you do that... just be careful around the ears, 'kay? The rings are sensitive.

"Alright." Whyte heeds the warning, mostly sticking to the top of the head for now. After a short while she pauses, sighing slightly. "I wanna ask a question, but I think it'll just sound like I'm fishing for compliments or something. I'm really not, though...maybe I just shouldn't ask."
