Yeah... sadly, Doris's background is already a matter of public record, if you wanted to put it that way. For that reason, that golden lady didn't bother inviting her. At least I think that's what she was implying.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense... Speaking of which, I should probably get back to interviewing other people soon. Should we talk about this back at the manor?

[AmbushCat]

Sure, okay! *eyes something off to the side* Looks like I have someone else on the way in, so it's just as well. *waves cheerfully* See you later, Sassafras!

[Ookalf]

Yeah, see you! *Sassafras waves goodbye to Sabrina and walks away.* What's next? Hmm... Oh, he sounds interesting. *After consulting the pamphlet again, Sassafras decides to go visit Teasy.*

[AmbushCat]

*When Sassafras gets there, she'll find that the mackerel tabby felinoid is decked out in an entirely indigo ensemble, along with a baseball cap and shades. He's uttering something in low tones to no one in particular, sounding as if he's practicing some sort of comedy sketch.*

---which begs the question: "Do we really need that much cinnamon?" I've heard of 'the spice of life', but there's no reason why it ought to flood your nostrils and turn 'em into the River of Doubt--- *notices Sassafras for the first time and waves jauntily* Yo. What's up?

Hi there! I've just kind of been going around, talking to people, and I figured it was your turn! So, what's up with you?

[AmbushCat]

Taking a break from life is all. I'm a comedian and occasional actor, with some crime-fighting on the side. Fame's all well and good, but nothing beats a good getaway.

[Ookalf]

Wow, that does sound like it would keep you busy. I can see why you'd want a break from it... So what do you do when you're not doing all that?

[AmbushCat]

*To this, Teasy smiles and pulls several items out from beneath the booth, placing them where Sassafras can see. These are all models of assorted machines: a 1984 Chevy Corvette; the Plymouth Barracuda that Megas's head is made of; a 16-wheel big rig advertising some long-gone company; and the RX-78-2 Gundam. Each of these look as if a ton of time were spent putting them together and painted.*

My sibs have varying hobbies. One studies human fashion; she wrote a book about it that became a bestseller on our homeworld. Another follows NASCAR events. Me? I'm into model building. Always have. I saw this advertisement once as a kitten that showed model cars you could just snap together, and the idea fascinated me. Things just snowballed from there.

[Ookalf]

Ooh, neat! You did all those yourself? *Sassafras spends some time admiring all of the models Teasy's presented.* These must have taken a lot of work...

[AmbushCat]

Like, a ton. *gestures at the big rig* This is actually one of my older models from 1990, and the first I tried to make entirely from scratch. Ultimately successful, but it still took me a solid 30 hours across a week and a half to get everything just right. *gestures at a few decals on the back bender, laughing* I ran out of paint doing those. Man, you should've seen my big sister's face when I tried to borrow her claw polish.

[Ookalf]

*Sassafras whistles.* Yeah, I can't imagine... But I guess it's all worth it in the end, right?

[AmbushCat]

*smiles proudly* Sure is. Nothing like seeing all that work come together. *looks Sassafras in the eye* Hold that thought a moment, maybe we'll get back to it, maybe not. I recognize the face now: you're coworkers with an 'Abby Dubious', right? A catgirl that's more 'cat' than 'girl', mostly black and white fur, looks like she has a black half-mustache, impossible to tell which gender she is at first glance?

[Ookalf]

Oh, yeah, I know her! *Sassafras nods, then tilts her head in confusion.* Um, have we met?

[AmbushCat]

Met? No. Do I have a cousin back home with your exact same coloration and fur patterns? Yes. And I tell you now...

*Teasy pulls out his smartphone, brings up a photo, and shows it to Sassafras. The two people in the picture are of the same species as Teasy, but are otherwise perfect mirrors of her and Gingersnap, right down to their facial expressions. Sass' counterpart is beaming proudly while holding some kind of trophy, while 'Snap is reserved but no less pleased.*

...the resemblance is tuna levels of uncanny.
