Yeah, I can see how that'd be a problem... How do you manage it?

Phosphora: That~ I think you can thank the eccentricities of the Muffin Continent for, Sassy. You know how any food that gets shipped to Muffinville has to be carefully scanned for contaminants?

[Ookalf]

Yeah, I've heard about stuff like that... Have you had to deal with them?

[AmbushCat]

Phosphora: Something like that. Someone let some ground beef that contained 2% magic on through by mistake, and by the time they spotted the error it was already sitting pretty in this grocery store's deli. So a recall was issued, but by the time they retrieved the meat it was already unfit to eat. The store owner stole the meat back and buried it in his backyard out of spite, got subsequently arrested. Story should've ended there, but...

...But then it turned into a plant, and you found it? Something like that? *Sassafras offers up, as a guess.*

Phosphora: Something like that. Lady Viridi sensed a disturbance and sent me out to deal with it. When I got to the yard, there was this vine with around fifteen pounds of hamburger sprouting from it. I've seen a lot of strange things throughout my existence, but nothing quite like that... anyway, I got "permission" to transplant the vine outside the Mungojerrie. With careful managing I've been able to keep a steady supply of meat for myself since. Sweet, huh?

Yeah, that does sound pretty great! I wonder if we could get something like that at the manor... Say, you think if we took some meat from your tree and planted it, we'd get another tree?

[AmbushCat]

Phosphora: Hmm... *looks thoughtful for a bit* I don't see why not. Normally I don't let people near the garden, but my intuition's telling me you were born a cat, and cats are part of nature, so... right. Shouldn't be too much of a hassle to let Lady Viridi warp you on over sometime.

[Ookalf]

For real? Cool, thanks! *Sassafras smiles.* I'm sure Miss Circe and the other girls will really appreciate this, too. You know, if this all works out.

Phosphora: *curious* Why's that? Meat prices in Muffinville getting a bit high for the brigade over there?

[Ookalf]

*Sassafras shurgs.* Just a bit... I mean, it's not an emergency or anything, but it would be pretty convenient, and help save a bit. There's an awful lot of us to shop for, after all...

Phosphora: Yeah, I've heard the rumors. Given your boss' prior business associations with the Brotherhood, we asked our little pacifist plant Charis to feed us information on you all so we could confirm you were on the level. *chuckles* Like, that's an impressive workforce you have over there.

[Ookalf]

Yeah, no kidding! *Sassafras laughs alongside Phosphora, then stops.* Wait. Wait... Does that mean Charis is a spy?!

[AmbushCat]

Phosphora: A spy? Hardly. Calling her a spy would imply that Viridi viewed your boss as an enemy. She might not particularly like her because of her stance on Color energies, but it's not like you're out to torch the planet or anything. By and large, you and yours do have at least some respect for nature. Otherwise we would've tried harder to keep Charis from wanting to work there.

Oh, I see... But she's still telling you things about us? Is that right?
