Alright, Everything is cool now, and we can get to this.
Sorting out the two oddball pictures first:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v171/ ... ersary.jpg <- This year is the KOF 10th Anniversary, as well as the 15th of Street Fighter. Just something I slapped together for it. Came out better than I expected it to. XP
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v171/ ... /Taiyo.jpg <- The five kids of Taiyo Gakuen, from Capcom's Justice Rival Schools series (aka The best 3D Fighting Game ever). Center: Batsu Ichimonji, Top Left: Kyosuke Kagami, Top Right: Hinata Wakaba, Bottom Left: Iincyou (Chairperson in America. This is an actual translation: Iincyou's name is unknown, and, in fact, she perfers people to call her that. You might remember her from the Saikyo picture up above.) Bottom Right: Ran Hibiki (Dan's sister? Cousin? Who knows.) I love the Taiyo crew, because while my favorite character is elsewhere (Akira, in Gedo (Legion of Heroes [United by Fate in America]) or Sejiyun (Moreo! Justice Gakuen [Project Justice in America]) Taiyo is the most well rounded school and I can relate with more than a few of the characters.
And now, the big stuff.
PROJECT: MANTIS RESSURECTION
This project is based on something from way... way... way back when I was in elementary school, from fourth grade. It started with my friends Kyle, Hunter, Spencer, and JaX. It was the story (ie: LARP) of the crew of a space ship, chasing down an evil villain known as Zorgus. We also pretended it was a TV show, calling each game we did an "Episode". I decided, I'm gonna change it a bit (Tone down the star wars references, change stuff that doesn't make sense, make it more indepth, add more people), and work with it. Who knows, I might start actually writing an illustrated series for it. No, I in fact... plan on doing that.
Why is it called The Mantis? That's the ship.

This sketch could be better, but it gets the point across. This is a new design for the Mantis, because looking back at old designs from elementary school, well, it (unintentionally, of course!) looked like a... certain part of the male anatomy. >_>;;; If anyone wants, I can throw out a sketch of the old Mantis, though.

This drawing was done before the last batch, so it's not quite as quality. Anyways, the coloring didn't come out as good as I planned, but it's okay. Kyle was the main character, the captain of the ship. All question marks on his profile mark uncertaintly or assumptions. IJF stands for Intergalactic Justice Federation. I'll be writing stuff about the IJF and the Earth of that time period and other worlds and such, too.

Hunter was Kyle's first recruit, though often he wasn't as prominent as other characters. I'm not so sure on the coloring job here, either...
The aforementioned Ninja and Thief are myself and Koehne the Fifth (Seen later)-- In the original thing, Hunter never did warm up to me, but Evan (Aka Koehne the Fifth) Wasn't around then, so when I added him, both Evan and I figured Hunter wouldn't like Evan much either.

Spencer was one of the most important characters in the series, and was the eldest of us. Originally, Spencer was a Jedi, used the force, and such, so I went back and changed this all to Samurai and Samurai abilities. Not that much of a change, since Jedi ARE space samurai, but whatever. If you can't read my handwriting, on the diagram of the glasses, it mentions the circle on the right lens is a light, but it can also scan vital statistics of people. The line on the left lens translates other languages to english. Pocket's design is from what I remember of how Spencer drew and described him. In reality, Pocket was a pencil sharpener (But it did look somewhat like the pocket of The Mantis!)
Spencer was probably the first of the crew to like me (in the game AND real life. Though IRL I had known JaX before going to that school, so we were already friends.), whereas Hunter didn't like me until one of the last episodes. (In real life, he started liking me about... say, the last year he was there-- Keep in mind, all my friends are older than me barring a few, so I actually did episodes with the few kids part of it who were my age after the main crew left.)
I'm currently working on JaX's, though his should be next in line. Skipping a couple characters (JaX, the two droids, and Kelsey), we get to me.

This is only sketches, no real proportion assigned yet, and no bio or anything. I'm doing the real sheet after JaX's. I changed my character a little (Because, uh, the original was, uh, a GUY)... But it's basically the same. I come from a place called Sky Palace (I'm thinking of maybe changing the name.) which is a LITTLE like Cloud City in the original design, but in reality it's sort of an ancient-oriented place. I even use an actual Katana rather than plasma/photon/energy based weapons. But to counter the new tech, it has an electromagnetic ward on it so that the newer type wepons won't just slice through it. It makes me a somewhat different character.
Anyone wondering about the "Gekkabijin Kisaki" thing, Gekkabijin translates to Queen of the Night, nice for a Kunoichi... Kisaki is based loosely on my name-- Tanya is a deritive of Tatiana, which means Fairy Queen. Not finding anything defined by that, I went with Kisaki, which just means Queen.
With no profile for Patch, Arthur, Brian, or Ryan, we skip to the new additions, of which there is only:

KOEHNE THE FIFTH! Based on newcomer Evan, you'll notice right off that he looks strikingly like Lupin the Third. That's because not only does the real Evan look like Lupin, he even ACTS like Lupin. So, throwing my "reference-down-tonage" out the window, I have Koehne the Fifth, a giant Lupin the Third reference. This profile was actually done second (Which is why it looks more like the Kyle one [Though, IMO, the art isn't as quality as the Kyle one] and less like the others), because I wasn't sure how to do the designs for any of the others, but knew exactly what I wanted for Koehne the Fifth.
This is all I have right now. I'm going to need to make more profiles, but once I do JaX's, I can start work, because the droids and Kelsey shouldn't be needed until at least the second edition. Hopefully I can get working very soon!
